I commute about 150 miles a day and also do business travel. I'll do about 45K miles a year.

Those wheels look nice for a winter setup. You shouldn't get stuck at all with those. The tsx is an animal with snows.

Holy moly.

Since I've moved close to school last January, I've only driven about 6000 miles

Thanks. I like the winter setup.

The TL is good in the snow. Last winter I just used my all seasons and that would be what I normally use but they need to be replaced and buying these Blizzaks and the other wheels and TPMS were actually a lot less expensive then getting 4 new MXM4.

Gotta love Craigslist and the Azine Black Market.

I chose to do this commute. We could have moved closer to work when we bought our house last year but we really like the area we live in. Schools are better, people are friendlier and I can get home and be relaxed rather than live near Philly where there are Philly Fans.

Yeh. Haven't really seen them in the past couple months. Cold weather keeps everyone inside. We had some friends over 2 Saturdays ago and a couple of them made their way over later for drinks.

Wifey hangs out with one of them all the time.

There are a couple nice houses for sale in the area. A lot of them have 2 car garages with large driveways. A Porsche would look great in one of them.

Most of my updates are going to be miles, miles and miles. I'll throw in info on what maintenance I have to do but I plan on getting 250K out of this car.

I know....I need to drop it. That's not likely to happen.

These tires are not as harsh as standard snow tires and do a really good job on the snow we have seen.

I have put 67K miles on the car since I bought it and still haven't done brakes. And they are still at 40%. I'll swap them in the spring when I do the suspension.

Other than that it is still running strong.
Yeah those tires are great. I just used them on the F and was going up 11% grade with snow to go skiing and only tripped the traction light once or twice.

Those wheels look great and damn you drive even more than I do.

I've got Blizzaks on the V wagon, only in LM-60 form. They rock in the snow and slush.

Impressed you've got that many miles on your TL already. Makes me want to pick up a cheap one as a beater. I absolutely love the 3G TL.

Do it.

I'll keep piling the miles on as long as I can.

Minor Update

I'm closing in on 148K miles now.

In later March I picked up a replacement set of MXM4's. I figure I got 59K out of the last set so why try anything else. These work just as well. I have to take them in for a balancing. At 80-85 mph I have a very slight vibration. Nothing urgent.

I sold the winter setup for basically what I paid for them. There did allow me to get another 5-6K miles out of the last set of MXM4's.

This past weekend a fellow dallison came by and helped me swap the suspension. I opted to stick with stock. About a year ago I found a set on the Blackmarket for sale. The previous owner swapped his set out for Aspecs after about 1000 miles so they were basically brand new.

I did not clean these. This is how clean they were.

Fronts

We had one nut that was a PITA and had to be cut off and the rears took a bit of time to weave out.

I know I'll hear it from some of you but even though I really thought about it I decided that I like the ride quality the way it is and didn't really care to drop it.

I have a second set of corners with Tein H-Tech sitting in my basement so if I decide to drop it in the future I can do it. I may just sell them.

Aside from the mechanical stuff I decided it was time to wash the car. It was partially yellow from all the pollen. I also cleaned the interior because it really needed it.

Nothing special:

Driver's and Passenger side seats do have cracks but no worse than my CL.

And the bad....large part of a truck tire did a number on the front corner.

The corner of the bumper was lifted but I was able to snap it back on.

Minor damage....

The lens of the fog lamp was already chipped.

Thanks.

Truth be told....other than the chipped up hood and front bumper it is in better condition - mechanically and aesthetically than when I bought it.

Nicely done Ravi! With the amount you drive, I don't blame you for opting for stock suspension again. I have my coils nice and low just for you

Nice update.

Although it would've been cool to see it dropped a little, I can understand your reasons, and it's kind of refreshing to see a thread where someone's just driving their car, and not necessarily making it into a project.

Sucks about the truck tire. I had a similar thing happen to the Accord, got kicked up by the car in front and I had nowhere to go. Looks like no permanent damage though.

Enjoy

Those road gators can bite. Nice job of getting the black marks off. You would never know that it has that kind of mileage.

There's always one bolt that give you some issues.

Yeh....I probably would have missed the tire has it not been for the bitch tailgating me. I couldn't hit the brake to avoid it.
