Yeah, all those people buying AMGs and M-series Bimmers, and SRT-4/6/8s are idiots. They should all just stick huge NOS canisters in their cars and bolt on superchargers on their 325i's so that they can blow the socks off an M3

A factory built "performance" version of a vehicle such as a AMG Merc or a Type R will be built to endure rigorous factory testing specifications and standards. Among many things, these vehicles come with a full manufacturers warranty.

First I thought you were "misinformed" or naive, but now your just coming across as a complete idiot

The cost of importing the car, getting it up to US spec (emissions, airbags, etc), and so forth is much more expensive than you would think.

Ugh... if you imported a true NSX-R you wouldn't have a warranty worth a dime here State-side. If the car isn't sold in the USDM it won't be covered under any sort of factory warranty by US dealerships.

Oh definetely - I was just referring to his generalization of why by a "Type-R" vehicle in general when you can mod one to that kind of potential. Obviously, importing an NSX-R to the US would negate any kind of warranty the vehicle had.

I'd rather purchase and mod a USDM NSX than buy a JDM Type-R.

Considering I'm against the whole JDM nsxr project, its not an issue.

Uhh, nice comparison considering those cars don't fit the category of nsx vs nsxr, you might as well pick any random car. Now if you want to bring up M3 vs M3 CSL go ahead- consumer weight vs lightweight. The NsxR isn't build to withstand any more rigorous of a drive than the standard nsx. Its performance gains are through weight reduction.

well considering how much it would be to import over a JDM NSX-R id rather get a USDM NSX and mod it than importing the NSX-R, now if they sold the NSX-R here in the US id purchase the NSX-R over the base NSX

Yup, even if I own a Supercharged NSX I am drooling over this car... Nice set up. I wonder if the antenna goes down 50% like the Original one...

Short of bribing the DMV, importation officials and god-knows-who-else... he did the only thing you CAN do in the US. And that is.. buying a "regular" NSX and modding it.

I think he did a GREAT job. Its clean, tasteful and moves. I dont see why the big fuss is being made over this.

This guy has a great taste in cars and knows how to stand out. For the amount he dumped into this car ( which i would guess is an investment ) he could have bought a porsche which is very close in performance. NSX's are very rare especially the ones in the U.S.

NSX is the ultimate japanese car to tune, also the most expensive. That comptech blower set him back close to 15k alone!!! Think about doing a custom tune with a turbocharger and mid rear with an all aluminum chassis

The only japanese supercar
