I have discovered in the last couple weeks, that a 650 is going for nearly the same $$ as a 640 with a better warranty (2013 650 vs. 2014 640) with equal mileage. I'll have made up my mind within the next few weeks on which one I'm gonna grab. This 650 ticks all the boxes except for the interior color (I prefer cinnamon brown):
2013 BMW 650 Gran Coupe i xDrive, $66,591 - Cars.com
2013 BMW 650 Gran Coupe i xDrive, $66,591 - Cars.com
you can't be too picky when it comes to used cars.. especially on a non-volume selling model. If the price is right and it has all the "must haves" then DO IT!! V8TT >>>> I6T

Why does that car have an "M" steering wheel? It's not an M6. Does it have an "M" package?

I see more of these than the 2 door.. looks like a nice luxury leasemobile. I would do everything I could to save up for the M6 GC though.

i actually saw a 6 series without LED option the other day.. first time ever.
Weird looking without LED headlight... maybe because i had never seen one..

You should just get rid of your 350Z "vert all together and get a M6 Convertible or GC.
i don't know how much fun you will have in the 350z once you get used to the V8TT.

^^ I've thought about that but I really do love my convertible. Nothing like it on a nice, sunny day when I'm headed to court somewhere with the tunes blasting.

350Z vert is just too heavy to be tossed around
Get rid of the Z, then get the 6GC and the S2K, you got my dream garage.

Think I'll put the top down on the 3 when I go to lunch today.
No one actually needs an M-Car...

I test drove the S2000 and the 350Z back to back and here are my impressions: the S2K felt like a go kart compared to the Z (in a good and bad way). Turn in was quick but I felt every bump on the road, not to mention I'm not a little guy and my 6'2" self only fit one way in the Honda. I could not drive this car more than 100 miles without wanting to drive it off a cliff. Having to have the engine revs way up or no power was an absolute turn off.

In the past 12 years i have had 3 VQs and 2 S2000s. VQs were good but forgettable and i am searching for my 3rd S2000 as we speak.
I switched between VQs and S2000 about 3 times. Power was NEVER an issue in the s2000.
I am 6'1 by the way and i know 350z very well, it is really not much more "comfortable" than a s2000. The ride is about the same, except 350z is a lot quieter inside.
If you got a friend with s2000, maybe you can switch cars with him for a week or 2.

and i DDed both s2000 for 6 years total with 60 miles commute everyday.
I still think it is uncomfortable, loud, featureless, speakers are useless and , the MPG is not so great, torqueless and many things.
but after a while, you will appreciate the simplicity of the car, it takes about 5 secs to put the top down and just go cruise in a summer night and maybe hit a few corners.
Those <5% of the time will made up for all the craps i had to go through with the s2000.

I wanted an S2K from the moment I first laid eyes on one (infield, California Speedway, Paul Tracy had his parked next to my brother's trailer). I had 13 Hondas and was (still am) appreciative of the company's motorsports efforts. There is no way in God's green earth I could drive one to Indy with only gas stops (8 hours) like I can the Z.

Agreed - the S2000 is certainly not a road trip car, it barely does the job as a daily for me.
I've driven my AP2 27,000 miles since 1/21/14 and it's been an awesome, yet an uncomfortable journey. My last car was a CLS6 and my god do I miss those seats.
If you love driving, the S2000 handles & behaves so well that you seem to forget about all of the shortcomings. This car eats corners, the brakes are great, and there's really nothing better than VTEC with the top down. Yes, the lack of torque is sometimes frustrating but I've added a few modifications to make the a car more livable (AP1 flywheel, Intake & Exhaust).
240hp in ~3000 pound car isn't exactly slow.
To each his own, but if I were to have it my way I'd only use this as a weekend & track car with something more comfortable for daily duties

In that case, yes. My max was 3.5 hours from LA to vegas.... That is the most i could take.

So I have been combing the sites looking for my dream car to no avail. It'll be just about perfect except too many miles; no cold weather package; aluminum trim vs. wood; etc. so I went to the dealer and was told they have a new 2014 650i xDrive, white/black and loaded with just about every option BMW has. Original MSRP was $91K and they want to sell it for $82K. It's been sitting at the dealer for a year so I was going to offer them $80K and see what happens. I'm getting close to making a final decision within a day or so, I'll keep you boyz posted.

but just another $2k off? even though that is a reasonable offer but it does not hurt to ask for a little bit more

You're right, esp since the second most wanted package is not on the car after I thought it was. (cold weather package)
