Clutch goes GOLD
....rush that is. I finally decided I'd participate in an official rally. PLENTY of pictures/videos of the rally and pre-rally prep goodness coming.
As of the car to take, I still have not decided. So far it looks like a Z4 from hell would be the whip of choice. I'm sure I can get behind a few of the exotics at some point, hehe.
If any of you in the nearby cities of the route would like to come check out the cars, feel free to! PM me if you have questions on the arrival times and hotels to be at.
I myself will only be doing the West Leg (ending in Vegas).

Sounds like so much fun. I really want to do one of these in the F sometime but they cost so much.

Some Team Shirt concepts. Will be doing some giveaways in the future:

Dumb and n00b question: How does one participate in this sort of event?

No worries, it's fairly simple. Visit the rally website, and register.
http://www.goldrushrally.com/
Entry fee's vary by rally.
Other rallies include Gumball and Bullrun.
And rallies could be free, BullRun lets you have a company (any you pick) sponsor you and the car (Hudson Jeans did my friends GTR). Gumball works the same way. Also sometimes massive discounts for those rallies are offered by the insanely rich who will cover half your fee and what not, sort of like scholarships to a school.
Goldrush is the cheapest of the rallies, currently at $12,000 for the full run/$6,000 for half and no private sponsors are allowed.
As for insurance, it's all your standard comprehensive. Tickets are handled by Traffic Lawyers (sometimes sponsoring the rally).

Thought this was gonna be a thread about PDG.

Made it out alive! Aside from group pullovers (no tickets! yay), it was a wonderful day. One shot for now.
Starting Point: Oakley HQ. Lake Forest, CA.
End Point: Islands Hotel. Newport Beach, CA.
...And about 170miles (6 checkpoints) in between.
115 cars registered on the grid. For $250 rally, it's well worth it!

Me again with our Targa car. This car is a lot of fun:
*My helmet was not delivered in time, so I had to compromise.

Turn your speakers up for this one! Believe it or not, but that's just 1/5 of the sound it actually makes in person.
