Oh, took this pic yesterday. Broke 100 miles at 86mph
Also, I do have Sport mode on all the time when I drive. The stock tires really do suck, and whenever I make a turn the inside rear tire likes to break loose. If I didn't have sport mode on, it would cut power.

I know you dont plan on it being a dd but how do you think it would be for a dd? I forgot if you answered this in the first post lol.

For VA - 50% for the front side windows, 35% for the rear. Both side view mirrors are required if tinting the rear window. It must not be more then 20% reflective. And you can tint the windshield above the AS-1 line as long as its non reflective. But I dont like the way that stripe looks so Im not doing it.
I don't know what I'd do if Honda were to come out with a lightweight RWD car again. Not have the VTEC pull at high RPMs is weird....
6th gear. It revs a bit lower then my Prelude did, and it had 5 gears. But its not the CL where 3k would be 80mph. Revving that high doesnt bother me since I still get damn good gas mileage plus theres enough power to pick up speed without down shifting. But as I said before, its nowhere near my CL when it comes to acceleration.
Its perfectly suitable for a daily, but the seats are a bit firm so long distance trips may be difficult for some. I can see myself running the CL into the ground over the next 2-3 years then moving this into the daily driver spot.
I just ordered some little things too

I do have a long list that keeps growing....but the great thing is a lot of the big things are either coming at a discount or for nothing out of pocket at all. My main goal with this car is handling and appearance. All out speed comes next.
Speaking of appearance, the car is being polished as I type this. Have to do a two step unfortunately, but it should look amazing afterwards. Starting with Optimum Polish II and finishing with Menzerna. Than sealing it with Blackfire Wet Diamond. I should have pics tonight.
Im pissed though, I already have a rock chip on the driver side of the front bumper

Why would anyone buy this over a mustang v6. It is underpowered and ugly.
Looks great civic. You seem to make all your cars look bad because of the front plate. The side mirror placement is so much better than in the cl. That rear seat seems kind of silly to me. You can really tell how low the motor sits from that engine bay shot. How would you compare the steering feel to the cl? Are you gonna leave the badges as scion ones?

But at least I didnt have to drill into the bumper, aside from the bumper plug. :shrug"
I like the back shelf, its a nice place to toss my quick detailer and microfibers They also installed it for insurance purposes, which Im fine with.
The steering takes some getting used to, since at low speeds its very light but turns quickly. At higher speeds, its much tighter. The CL by comparison is just light all the time. Though the FR-S EPS system could have a bit more feedback.
NP!
Yea, heres the thing.
The GM at the dealer agreed to have his guy come in and do it using the 3M stuff. Instead, they installed the Scion bra. What makes absolutely ZERO sense is the Scion bra is only 3 pieces; the hood and both fenders. Nothing on the bumper
So Ill be calling him on Monday regarding that.

The past week has been insane. Between getting the car, dealing with the bank and of course putting in another 55hr work week, I topped it off with a 12 hour day detailing the car (though my friend did most of the work) and then getting about about 5hrs of sleep before heading 2hrs north of the P-Tuning Mid-Atlantic Mega Meet. Im sleeping in tomorrow
Nick, our very own 01CLinprocess, detailed my CL about 2 years ago and did a fantastic job. In that time I've getting a bit more confident handling a buffer, but I still didn't trust myself to detail the FR-S. Naturally, I asked him to do it
At first it was just going to be a quick polish and seal, but after testing a two step polish on one panel, we decided it would be best to do a two step on the entire car. Unfortunately, that meant about twice the work.
Nick started off with washing the car down to get rid of all the loose dirt/bug guts, then followed it with a clay bar. After that, he moved onto polishing using Optimum Polish II and Menzerna Super Finish, then sealed using my personal choice, Blackfire Wet Diamond.
The finish wasnt horrible when I bought the car, but there were hard water spots and various swirls and scratches from the excellent dealer prep Unfortunately, I couldnt get any of the swirls or the scratches on the rear wheel arches to show up on camera, but here are a few befores:
Like my stripe kit? It gives me more VTEC.
After the second stage, around 10pm last night:
Letting BFWD haze:
Finished:
Worth every minute of it.
HUGE thanks goes out to 01CLinprocess (Nick) for doing this on short notice (I asked him to do it on Friday ), and doing such an amazing job. If anyone is local and looking to have their car detailed, I'd suggest contacting him.
In other news:
I went to the P-Tuning Mid-Atlantic Mega Meet today. The guys at P-Tuning were very nice and allowed myself and another First 86er (in red) to park under a tent right in front. The meet was HUGE. I wasn't used to all the attention the car got from everyone, especially coming from a CL The one drawback - I didn't have a whole lot of time to walk around and take a lot of pics like I wanted to. I spoke with Mr. C (owner of P-Tuning) about the FR-S and I have a very good feeling that they will be getting a lot of my money

Thanks guys
I used the CL car cover for the first time last night............on the FR-S The front soft of fits, but the cover has a saggy ass. Its just funny seeing ACURA written on the front of it
Since its pouring out, Im driving the CL. Its a huge difference, but it still brings a smile to face whenever I drive it.
Tint is scheduled for tomorrow at 9a. Still undecided if I want to play it safe and go 50% up front with 35% in the rear, or just do 35% all around.....

35% all around gets my vote....if 35% is the legal limit why would go get anything lighter ???

35% all around or 20% on the back window 35% on the sides.

I can't even tell a difference between the 50% and 35% I have on the CL or my brothers Accord. But Im still leaning towards 35% all around.
50% is the limit for the front windows. 35% is the limit on the rear.
If I lived in a well lit area, Id run 20% on the rear, but I dont. I wouldnt be able to back out of my driveway

I saw a black FR-S going in the opposite direction of travel on Jefferson Blvd. in Culver City today: it looked nice and compact and was reminiscent of the first-gen Datsun Z cars.
Time to stop by the Scion or Subaru dealer to get a closer look...

Congrats man, great pics. I'm not a fan of this car, but it looks like there's some fun to be had here for sure.
I'm surprised Toyota is so transparent about the Subaru origins of this car; you normally don't see such partnerships so apparent, especially including the Subaru logo on the door. I suppose Toyota thinks Scion will gain some street cred

Safety Car
The last time I was pulled over for this, the VA state cop told me that changes were made increasing the punishment, and that after the 3rd offense of not having a front plate, it becomes a misdemeanor, for which you have to go to court. I have no idea if this is true, I've never heard anything about it, doesn't sound legitimate, and my cousin who is a local VA cop had heard nothing about it either.
