Its not just fuel savings. Im taking insurance costs into account. The CL is about 1k a year for full coverage. The Civic will be half that. The CL averages 26mpg. The Civic averages 40mpg. The CL requires premium. The Civic doesnt. I average 35k miles a year, so gas expenditures is a large piece of the pie, so to speak.

Another idea I had was to downsize to just the FR-S and finish my bike project. That will save me a shitload of money as it only costs me $175 to insure every year and gets around 50mpg. Plus, I don't have much hair left so helmet-hair isn't as big of a deal as it used to be!

But I will honestly say that I havent completely killed the Accord idea. I just refuse to spend over $5k on a 13yr old Accord. And the rest of them that Im finding have horrible interiors and rust.

Its at a usable height. I just want tires that fill out the wheel wells a bit more.

I have to agree here (for the most part). Cars gained weight and lost driving feel. Just look at the current Honda lineup and point out a car that is just as fun or more fun then their lineup was 20 years ago.

And for shits and grins, compare it to their lineup from 10 years ago

There's a guy in my neighborhood that DDs an Exige. I don't know if he's crazy or awesome.

As an aside, I sat in the FR-S/BRZ today at the DC Auto Show. I can see why people are taking to them. They aren't as bad inside as the pictures suggested.

But the seats. Dear god. Awful. The seat bottom especially. I felt like I was sitting on a bleacher. But maybe I have a lumpy ass or something

Theyre, umm, a bit firm

I drove out to Kansas City back in June. 16-17hrs each way, only stopped for gas. I think the circulation is finally coming back to my right foot

I glanced over it on the other forum last week. Finally being able to see it on my monitor is making me long for those fenders and front bumper. That is the style wide body I want. Subtle.

Its not flashy, just functional and strong looking.

Hey Morgan, go watch tonight's Top Gear UK. Clarkson really likes the FR-S/FT-86/BRZ. It's apparently so easy to drift that he does it while reading a book! LOL!

Planning on it. I think Id be happy with ~300whp. But with tires that wide, I think 400 might be on the horizon

Test drove it today finally.

Just the way I like it.

The engine does feel just like WRX without juice. haha

Feels pretty damn sluggish though compare to my car which is normal.

I prefer that TRD wheel over stock. Leather looks softer, thicker and just better quality plus no yucky scion badge.

The TRD wheel is nice, and I wouldnt mind getting the 86 airbag, but not at $800 each (yes, each).

Also, I've owned the car for 9 months as of yesterday. And because of this on Friday:

I drove it to work. It had been sitting in the garage for about three weeks due to the weather. Then Friday night, we got rain which turned into ice. So its back in the garage until next Saturday for Cars and Coffee.

Current Mileage:

I'm real happy that I've put less then 400 miles on it this past month - from a mileage stand point at least. I do miss driving it.

In other non-related news, I hope to finally finish this build before summer:

Its a build I started February of 2010. This year I just want to get the suspension and electronics ironed out. Next winter Ill worry about making it pretty.
