I wish we had that weather. I love VA, except for the wildly erratic weather fluctuations.

Its currently -37* with wind chill here. Safe to say the BRZ in staying in the garage until further notice.

Yea, we took a look at the weather in Chicago (we have another site there) and saw -15 before wind chill.

It was left off as I was selling the car at that time. But now that I'm keeping the car, it still doesn't matter if I install it. So I'm just keeping it 100% stock.

I refuse to sell the thing because it's such a piece of shit that I don't want my name muddied by trying to pass it off onto someone else.

So far, the best intake setup on this motor (for NA, obviously) is the stock air box with a smooth silicone intake pipe and either a K&N or TRD filter. The stock system flows really well, surprisingly.

well tooo much is tooo bad....

am guessing the airraid did flow well but maybe it was too much air for the motor and reduced intake velocity....not sure, just thinking out loud

The theory is that some of the resonators are there for a reason. They're helmholtz resonators, there to tune the air flow. I've trimmed down the snorkel, not sure if it made a difference. But I didn't do anything else to it. No reason putting money into something for such a small return in power.

The biggest thing was the missing air straightener. That caused the MAF readings to be highly erratic, even with a tune. Sure, you could switch to a speed density tune, but you better have a really good tuner to maintain drivability in all weather conditions.

It's currently 9* here, and feels like -5 Thank god for garages though, getting in the car earlier wasn't brutal. But leaving work this afternoon will be.

No kidding, I honestly wish I had the balance of a warm climate but ability to drive somewhere within 2 hours to go skiing. Can't have it all I guess

Raleigh is 2 hours from the beach and 3 hours from the mountains. It gets cold in the winter and it'll snow once, but it has the 100 degree days in the summer as well.
