Hot Ass!
Maybe I missed it, but what engine is in there now?!
And, did you ever find mechanically graphic pictures others have posted in the FRS forum detailing their rod failures?
Those JDM 86 headlights appear to have an underwire...as in from a bra...

Someone in Florida was nice enough to wreck their FR-S with 8k miles on it, so I got their engine.
Yep, I haven't posted them here though. They don't look any different from mine.

Give me your headlights and we have a deal.
Also, this is why I want the BRZ headlights.
I'd have to figure out what to do with the bumper mounted turn signal though.

So, got around to installing one half of another thing I've had since the beginning of December.
They're Recaro Sportster CS's. I was up in NY for Thanksgiving and hopped on FT86Club. That's where I noticed that Racecomp Engineering was parting out their shop car so they could pick up the new STi. I sent Myles a PM with an offer. They're located in Maryland, so it was perfect timing; I could swing by on my drive back home -which is exactly what I did. It was a tight fit, but with the rear seat folded, each seat could be maneuvered through the trunk and stood upright.
I've only got the driver side in as three of the damn 12 point bolts holding the passenger side in stripped. So I need to order new bolts (McMaster here I come ) and get those bolts out. I also need to tweak the driver seat mounting slightly. I'd like the front of the seat to be a bit higher, so I'll address that some time this week.
The coolest part of stopping at Racecomp was Myles gave me some additional parts for either very cheap or no cost at all - solid steering rack bushings, Whiteline diff bushings, and rear SS brakes lines. I paid $27 for the rack bushings (normal price is around $100); $40 for the diff bushings (regular price is $60), and nothing for the brake lines. All were brand new.

Maybe 3lbs each? The stock seats are pretty light for factory seats. I didn't buy them to reduce weight though, I bought them for comfort. You met me in person, and I'm not a big guy, but the stock seats were too narrow in the shoulder area for me. These fit me like a glove.

well yeah its always tough to loose weight off a small car...there is not much you can loose when a car is made to be a sporty/sports car...

Morgan, I read your mods list and noticed a rather glaring omission. Didn't you "mod" the engine?

The Airaid is garbage. They swore up and down that it improved air flow on the car, and had flowbench results to prove it. The problem lies in the fact that they used a flowbench, not the motor, to measure flow. Because of that, you actually lose some power. Also, there were no pre-MAF air straighteners, so you'd get flat spots in the power band. The straw that broke the camels back was on a drive back from NY. I was on the Jersey Turnpike in traffic, changed lanes while in 1st gear around 10mph, and the car stumbled when I tried to accelerate. I nearly got rear ended by an 18 wheeler. The only way to fix the hesitation is with a tune, except that any gains you see are from the tune itself, not the intake - you actually get more power from a tune with the stock intake than you do the Airaid. Shortly after all the issues, they disappeared from the forum, and left plenty of pissed off customers; myself included. I refuse to sell the thing because it's such a piece of shit that I don't want my name muddied by trying to pass it off onto someone else.
So far, the best intake setup on this motor (for NA, obviously) is the stock air box with a smooth silicone intake pipe and either a K&N or TRD filter. The stock system flows really well, surprisingly.
Ty sir. They feel amazing too. The drive to work was so comfortable, while still holding me firmly.
The weather has been crappy, and whenever we do have a nice day, the car is filthy. Spring can't come fast enough
