Yeah...but the thing with Scion is the set no haggle pricing. So, in theory, the dealers are not allowed to pull this schtick...where the subie dealers can.

^^^ I think the market value is a dealer added incentive which includes:

Destination charge
Lug nuts
All floor mats/All season floot mats
Trunk tray
3M clear bra over the hood/mirrors/bumper/etc
Lifetime oil change....

a friend paid for the same thing @ Acura last year....

nope.

market value = dealer mark up

the additional items you mentioned have to be presented as line item listed as added or optional dealer installed equipment.

That dealer tried posting the cars on FT86Club. First, the salesman came across as a complete douche. Second, they wanted $80 for filling the tires with nitrogen Theyve been added to the Dealer Blacklist.

And unfortunately, according to Scions PurePrice, the can sell it for that. Pure Pricing only states that the advertised price is the price you pay. If its listed on the window sticker, then they can sell it for that much.

Though, they wont actually sell it since no one in their right mind will pay that amount for the car.

Oh, forgot to mention, I have an appointment with the 3M guy next Friday at 10a to have the clear bra re-done. Since I found some bubbles in the fender portions of the port installed bra, he's going to redo everything, at no cost to me

This is what I was curious about...and sad to hear it. Hope most dealers play the smart game and stick with msrp pricing.

Most of the dealers that are marking the car up are in Florida. Most are selling it at MSRP, especially since they really have no idea what it is. The GM at my dealer told me that he had no idea what corporate was talking about when they informed him he would be selling a First 86 car.

Im bringing the car by the dealer probably Saturday (assuming its not raining) to have it looked at and see what they can do.

nearly $7k mark-up?!?!?!

Only a fool would pay mark-up.....let alone $7k mark-up on a $27k car.
Who would pay around 1/3 more for a car?!?!?

Dealer in Sumter SC has the ultramarine blue 6AT, Dealer here in florence didn't sell the silver one I mentioned before, it too is a 6AT. Neither have that "market value" mark up. They are pretty loaded though. Both cases have the 8.5" nav screen, trunk tray, mud guards, and 3M clear bra.

Not a fan of the ultramarine blue, I want to test drive but I don't know if I feel like dealing with the memorial day salesman push.

Thats the BeSpoke audio. Its worthless unless you have an iPhone, since the navigation is run directly off it.

It also won't work 100% until they release the app, which was just pushed back to 5/22

Its an $850 option that does the exact same thing a $500 Pioneer or Sony does.

Well that's good to know considering I have a droid and was planning on changing the head unit anyways. How good is Scion/Toyota Nav system? To give you an idea, I think the one honda uses it "good".

Not sure, but the FR-S doesnt have an optional nav system. The BeSpoke is the closest thing to nav, but it only works if you have an iPhone connected.

The Subaru system sucks.

Might not be needed for driving on the street, but no mods are needed for that. A BBK is a benefit to any car. Who wants crappy floating calipers. If I am braking from a high speed I don't see why power matters, but I see why weight does.

It should be a crime to buy this car and never track it.

No one parks in this lot since 85% of the workers dont have security clearance to enter through the loading dock. The other cars that regularly park there - an RL, Protege, and a Silverado - park in other corners. So yea, I take up two spaces, but no one cares.

I read through that on the forum yesterday. I like the gauge wire pass through on the firewall, and its got a massive throttle body. I want to get those JDM underpanels too. Its also nice to see that you dont have to take the interior apart to get at the rear suspension bolts, its under the carpet in the trunk Its scary to think that the front camber is set to 0*, I can only imagine how much more responsive the car will be with a bit of camber dialed in

Im excited to see what Perrin comes out with. Theyre excited about the car and very active on the forum, which I like. Theyre working on something called the "Positive Steering Response System", which I have a feeling is reprogramming the EPS system.

In other news, my second mod shipped today!

Just realized I forgot to finish my thought on that

This is my break in procedure:

-No constant speeds
-No cruise control
-No WOT shifts (youre breaking in a clutch at the same time....)
-Slowly increase you revs as you put on the miles.

Im at 7xx miles on my FR-S right now and Im revving it up to ~6k rpm every now and then, just to build some heat in the motor. Im also giving it ~80% throttle here and threre to put some load on the engine.

I didnt rev past 4k rpm for the first 200 miles or so. But I would apply load to the engine, about 50% throttle. From ~200 miles up to 400, I would rev to 4500, 400-500miles was 5k, 5-600 was 5500rpm, and so on. Im slowly increasing the throttle input as the miles add up as well. By 1000miles, I should be bringing it to or at least near redline.

Ive yet to go WOT, but I can already tell not having VTEC is weird. Toyota recommends very little load and keeping it below 4k rpms for the first 1k miles. No thanks.
