Did you ever get a response from MRT?

And did you show them how your exhaust was installed?

Curious to what they say.

No, no response. Going to show the shop the photo this afternoon. I don't want the guy who did that touching my cars again.

AccessPort is delayed to next week. I hope that I get it before my road trip to Ohio. Would be a nice chance to test the new tune out

Hah, that is true.

Did you see CP-E's new video on the exhaust and exhaust + DP comparison? Still one of my favorite exhaust systems, right behind the Milltek.

<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/66248634" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/66248634">cp-e™ Ford Focus ST Exhaust Comparison</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user18223795">Custom Performance Engineering</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>

They're around your area, no? You should go visit the shop and check out their shop car.

Wow, yeah they're like 20 minutes from me. I'll have to keep track of the next time they're having an event. I think I'm sticking with the stock exhaust for a while. The one with their downpipe sounds awful to me : /

It's purely subjective. It's just not what I'm looking for ... But if you dig it, can't wait for your feedback on it

Oh, I completely understand.

It looks like I might be making the TBE purchase in July. I have a few bonuses lined up at work, and by July I should hopefully have achieved my goals, which will make the purchase that much easier.

The Milltek system is still my first choice.

FSWerks tune installed. A very nervous experience as it was the first time I had installed an ECU tune on my car.

That said, can't wait for later to night to test it out ... Stupid traffic

So, first impressions from a short drive are that they fixed the 1st and 2nd nerfing that Ford did from the factory. It is much more enjoyable at low speeds. Haven't really had a chance to get it to highway speeds but will tomorrow and then on the drive to Ohio.

But the 1-2 fix is worth the money by itself.

What a huge difference that tune made. It really fixed the nerfed throttle response and the lower RPMs really have woken up.

Averaged 28.3mpg on the way out to Ohio through the mountains. Once it got flat again, I bet I was getting around 30-31mpg. Definitely worth the $$ even with how I drive (conservatively).

Now if I could get the rattle in the driver's headrest fixed ... That's driving me insane

After getting out of the mountains, I got about 33mpg on the flats of Ohio. Really impressed with the car on a long road trip and with this new tune.

As with most turbocharged cars, being on the turbo sucks gas but I really do think this new FSWerks tune has done wonders. Ford should have considered doing it like this from the factory even if they didn't give the car 330lb-ft of torque

So I did v1.04 which I'm guessing has LT?

If that's why the throttle is better, then I love it. It's a totally different car. I felt like 1st and 2nd (especially) had been nerfed by Ford. I don't feel like there's that gap in response anymore in the other gears either.

It actually makes driving the car at 30-40% enjoyable.

How are things going with yours?

Yep, all of Randy's tunes are LT, unlike COBB which has both non-LT and LT.

Have you punched it WOT in 3rd gear yet? When it goes into overboost around 21-22 PSI it is just unbelievable.

I agree that it is much more enjoyable in lower throttle. Since most of my commute is city, I drive that way most of the time anyways. Also, since my BPV wasn't holding boost in lower throttle and was pretty "chattery", I had Randy send me a revised tune that tamed it down a bit (as he calls it, for those that hold lower RPM) since I usually don't shift any higher than 3-3.5k. Only once in a while I'll get into spirited driving and higher RPM and boost.

Mine is the same - it sat in the garage for nine days while I was out of the country. Good news is it started up right away like it didn't even sit. Tires were a bit bumpy at first, though, but that smoothed out and returned backed to normal after driving for several minutes. After seeing so many nice cars I had to row through the gears when I returned home.

So glad to hear the AP tune worked it's magic. Now that I've experienced the wonders of an AP I'll have some sort of tuner for all my future cars.

Damnit, I like the sound of the COBB exhaust.

Now I'm stuck between Milltek, CP-E, and COBB.

Hey, even with the catch can installed, I have a ton of soot along the rim of the exhaust tips. Have you still seen that?

I also see that. It seems to be normal for the ST.

The tune did help reduce the amount of soot, though.

Thats common on turbo'd cars. A catch can has nothing to do with that as its catching oil in the intake system, the soot isn't from the oil.
