Cars you like but hate to admit....

There's a lot of cars in this thread I'll openly admit that I like.
The '92-'98 MX-3 is one that I'll watch who I say it in front of. It has some girlie looks and came in those ugly pastel colors that the '90s automakers were so fond of. It always reminded me of the CRX.

-Lincoln MKX. I think it looks very cool, but its not a very good performer.
-03-07 Nissan Murano. Not really ashamed of that one, I love the way they look and actually want one.
-X2 on the Mazda5. If I had to drive a minivan that would be it!
-00-05 Toyota Celica. I just wanted one because I liked the way the look. Ricers ruined them though...
-Always thought the Dodge Stratus and Intrepid looked okay.

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
As for the supercharger...Oh no...too rich for my blood.
Corky @ Bell Engineering is working on a SWEET remote mount turbo that will cost closer to 3k that Im pretty interested in. HP #'s are about the same for both.

Also, the other day while browsing through a car dealership I came across a Ford Five Hundred. You know, grandmaw looking car. Well, it was black and had a rather sexy lip spoiler on it. It had VERY subtle little lip kit. Don't even know if you would call it a lip kit. It had a very nice aftermarket grille and dual exhaust with nice sized tips. Inside it was a creamy color. It was fully loaded with navigation. It was a very nice car and I kept catching myself staring at it. Looks so much like a Audi A6 from the side.

I have to say that from all the rental cars I have ever had, the Ford Five hundred and the Mazda 3 have been the best of them all....even though I wouldn't race anybody in a five hundred, I would totally buy it as a family cruiser.....

I really like the size and feel of the Kia Rondo, it is hugh inside. Feels like I am driving a school bus. Sometimes its nice to just have room and drive, I dont drive like I stole it all the time.

I'll see if I might can go back and get a picture of that Five Hundred. I'm telling you guys, I have never seen one with a lip spoiler. It definitely looked better than the average Five Hundred.

I'd need more than a lip spoiler in order to compel me into buying a Five Hundred/Taurus.

Out of all the cars I have driven, nothing polarizes people more than a Grand National. True, it has a certain hard edge that appeals to a particular sort of person, but most recognize it for what it is: A whistling black dragon few can catch.

if not we have two freinds that has two others, and one of them found a parts car, motor trans and the G80 rear end. he wants the motor to build and we want the extra tranny and the G80 since our current one didn't come with it the Limited slip.
it's true, people are in awe when the see the car. when tailoring it back we got many thumbs ups and at gas stations people wanted to buy it from us right then and there. even around town people will stare or say something at a red light, and plenty of rice burners that want to run it

Living the Dream
The current Mustang. I always swore I'd stay away from Fords etc... but I really like the GT
When they made it, I really like the SAAB 9-2x.
In some ways, I'm shooting myself for not seriously considering a Subaru WRX wagon when I bought my '06 TSX

Yes, it was an engine in search of a car. An engine that basically came to live in a chassis that dates it's history back to the sixties. But in 1986, in an area still in it's infancy of modern performance, a Grand National could rocket from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. Completely stock and with puny fifteen inch/215s bolted to the back of it. As the years passed these cars began to tear up drag strips all over the country. For five hundred dollars one could easily be in the twelves. One of my GN's was a consistent ten second car, with air conditioning and all power options.
Ugly? Perhaps. Crude? Absolutely. But burying your right foot in the throttle of one and feeling the world get yanked backwards is truly a wonderful thing.

Because it is ugly. Because it is a Buick. And underneath it's ugly Buick hood resides an engine tossed Buick's way by Don Runkle, a development engineer who at one time was in charge of Buick's Indy Car engine development program. An engine similar to that of the Buick Turbo Regals.

Ys but you can get that same kind of acceleration these days in alot of cars. And you can do it with much more refinement and style to boot. I dunno, I'm not much of a fan of old tech or "sleeper" cars. I'd rather do 0-60 in 4.9 secs in a Supra Turbo than a GN...

i agree with you sir!, this car isn't about cornering, it's all about fast, crude, raw power.

Suzuka Master
Absolutely golden words. It reminds me of my neighbor's old GN that had been sitting in his driveway for several years begging to be restored. I tried several times to buy it off of him but he didn't want to get rid of it. Eventually when I have more room, I'll look into them again.

I've always thought that GNs look absolutely sinister.

Check out this Avalon. It has a lip kit, lip spoiler and some wheels. Wheels look much better in person, but there are still better options. A woman that works with my mom bought it like 2 weeks ago with everything already on it. She is like 50. lol

My aunt has the exact same model except in a pearlized white. With cost being an object (in my world), I would steer myself to * if I really wanted a NEW full size sedan (750Li if used).

What does TSS stand for? Toyota Super Sport? Toyota Street Sport?

GN are amazing! all of the g bodies were great, i used to ride around in an 81 cutlass supreme. tap the gas and get slammed into the seat.

I know when they closed down El Toro Marine base a few years ago (in Orange County, CA), they auction off a whole fleet of them... to my understanding, some guy with a ton of money bought them all up... and probably turned around and flipped them one by one...
