They left out the Sultan of Brunei who has one of the most interesting/large private collections including 200 rolls royces, a number of Mclaren F1's and MANY others.
It doesn't really surprise me, when your a billionaire, not much in terms of cars will excite you because its no stretch to get them.

Paul Allen and Bill Gates where instrumental in getting the 959 federalized...
So the article is full of crap about not being able to drive a 959 on american soil... This article was written in 2006, and the 959 has been federalized since 2003... I'm sure the article is full of other horsecrap too, but I'm too lazy to do upaid research for the hack that wrote the article...
Heck, Gates has had one in the states "for show purposes only" even before they were allowed to be registered...

I thought about this a bit more, and its human nature to want what you can't have. As a child you want candy and toys that are out of your reach, as you grow up toys need to be more expensive and complicated and harder to aquire - there reaches a point when you can buy all the toys you ever dreamed of and you don't want them anymore. Sure you need some things to entertain you and get around, but more or less there is no emotional attachment or feeling of accomplishment when you can buy anything that you want. My

Interesting fact about Ellison, although I dont know if I can find a link to support it (my cousin writes book on Silicone Valley people and intereviewed him). Whenever he breaks up with a girl that he has been dating he buys them a 100k sportscar.

You would figure these guys regardless would own whatever, even if the cars just sat in there garage. But your right they are mostly driven around. People with such less money drive such nicer cars.....

if I were billionaire I would not care at all what I drive/ride in as long as i feel safe. It'd be just a mean of transportation, and I'd want to spend as little time in car as possible - got far more better things to enjoy than stupid cars and far more important things to work on.

damn, that was a lame "list". Hell, it almost looks like certain companies paid to have their car listed as the "top" car for the person. These ppl probably don't drive much but I know at least a few of them have several several cars... I don't think they were listing the "best" car the person owns. They were just listing some random car.
this gets the official stamp of dis-approval.

the most expensive car(s) i would buy if i was a billionaire are:
1. Audi S4 (4 dr car) $52,000 (chump change if you were a billionaire, even for a millionaire)
2. Upcoming Nissan/Infiniti GT-R (sports car) $60,000
3. BMW X-5 (SUV/offroad) $55,000
I wouldn't buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini cause they're expensive to maintain and keep insured, plus those 3 cars wouldn't be off the wall expensive and would be kind of fairly not too flashy of cars and yet I would get to my destination in style.

I am sure each of us would have a kick ass collection of cars, but those guys are a different breed of people.
Buffett's house here in Omaha isn't even all that spectacular. Amazing location, but nothing like Dell's or Gate's palaces.

Aaaarrrggghhhh!
List means nothing.
Lets look at the flip-side. What you drive has NOTHING to do with what you have. It has more to do with what you value.
I've seen more nice cars in shitty apartment complexes than in nice neighborhoods. Does that mean they have $$? NO! It means they're probably leveraged up the ass trying to look like someone they are not.
When I lived in FL, some retard in an apartment complex near Winter Park had a Viper out front. That was his regular daily driver! I was funny seeing him drive by in a nasty-ass FL storm with palm branches and other schmeg all over his car.
People who think what you drive = who you are have a lot to learn.
Before he died, Sam Walton drove around in an old POS 15 year old Ford pickup.

Cars aren't exactly a great investment, for the most part all they do is depreciate. So why would someone so financially sound care so much about something that won't make him money. Plus, most of these people don't have time to enjoy a vast collection of cars.
