Cars that fit these NEEDS?

Hey guys, im looking for a new/old cheap car.

im am putting way too many miles on my car quickly. i was initially going to buy new wheels and coilovers...but ive realized the TL is no very tunable (and very expensive to mod)...i will keep the TL for weekends ONLY and insure it for weekends only (how much do you think this will cost me?)

the car i am looking for needs to fit these needs:

- under 3k
-running condition
-no major body or interior damage
-STICK
-RWD
-COUPE
-RELIABLE (dont need to spend more money on it)
-TUNABLE
-GOOD GAS MILAGE
-MOST IMPORTANTLY (GOOD SELECTION OF AFTERMARKET MODS)

THIS CAR MUST HAVE A TURBO MARKET

this car will be a dail driver...and slowly turned into a nice car/maybe track
-this car will focused towards performance in the future...and looks are the last thing in mind. (thats the reason why im leaning on a 240sx, looks good even stock IMO)
im leaning towards a 1991-1994 240sx. (fastback, i just love the potential this car has. performance wise and looks
i use to have one...(below what id go for in terms of looks, cash being available ofcourse...and with time.

what other cars can i consider...?
(i will most likely purchase the car around tax season, if i decide this is the best route) but, i really want to do my homework!!!
thanks

I know lots of guys (yes, guys) that are into 90's Miatas because they fill every one of your needs and can become real beasts when done right.

Maybe a fox body Mustang? If you're into American cars.

If you don't mind the looks, late 80's Supra... I was looking at one before I got my CL, and found plenty for under $3k...

What about a 4 cylinder accord coupe? Nothing special but it would make a good DD.

EDIT: Just saw you want RWD, so forget that idea.

hey you can put a turbo on those and they will fly. Such a light car and engines are pretty solidly built I believe. I would love to have one of those e30s but they are rare and pretty expensive

They are AWESOME cars and have a lot of options as far as mods go. I've had 3 e30's
84 318i coupe 5 sp.
86 325i coupe 5 sp.
93 325i con'vt 5 sp.

If you are going to be looking, make sure that you get the 325i and not the 325e; the e stands for economy and has a little less power. For modding and turboing I'd probably look at 318's since they're lighter and the engine is very easy to work on. The convertible's are heavy, so stay away from those.

The odometers go out faster than engines on e30's

As far as $$ goes, you can find one under $3K..just have to really look for them as they are pretty rare these days. I got all of mine for under 1500 each. Didn't keep them long enough cuz I always had other cars and only have one spot. I have a soft spot for e30's, if I see one for a good price I just go and buy it without really thinking about it.

I don't know where you're from adrian, but there's a BMW "store" near me (southwest Ohio) that has quite a few E36's I think. I'm not a Bimmer guy, but I'm pretty sure they're the E36, maybe the next gen too. I don't know what their prices are like, but they normally keep around 10-15 of them at a time...
