Car Talk Members: What are you driving in 2011?

We should do a poll in the mod forum to see how many mods still have Acura's. Bet it's close to 50/50, although the forum specific mods (CL/TL/MDX, etc) will load the Acura side with votes...
My other rides for 2011, is it ok they aren't cars? lol
2007 Yamaha R6

No pics sorry; but 04 TSX here. ~146,000km. Almost 8 years since I picked her up from the dealer.
Starting to get the new car itch again, but can't find anything that meets all my needs to give her up. Looking for something with a little more cargo room (wagon/cuv/suv); RWD/AWD, at least same kind of luxury as the TSX, and most importantly, 6MT. Guess how many vehicles meet that criteria out there?
1. 328i xdrive wagon -- only executive edition available in canada, and no sports seat as an option. wtf. Also in final model year; aging design, mainly because there's so many darned 3-series around here.
2. Porsche Cayenne (base). VW VR6 engine? Not to mention optioned out the way I want, it starts at CAD$74k before taxes. Uh, no.
Would totally rock the 2011 BMW X3 if it came with a stick, but the folks at BMW NA seems to have lost the meaning of "Driving Machine" somewhere. Acura? Call me weird, but if the MDX came with a stick, I would probably be one of the very few to own one, if not the only one
But we know that's never gonna happen.

But we know that's never gonna happen. However, the first criteria when I look at a replacement now is the manual tranny. So that rules out pretty much 99.9999999% of the vehicles out there nowadays.
I guess another option I almost forgot about is the Mini Countryman All4 (the BMW X1's somewhat-close cousin). Just not too sure about the looks and size yet. Will check it out when I go to the Vancouver Auto Show tonight.
Loving it so far. The back seat is huge. Drives good. I have pretty much every option for an FX4 except the ecoboost. The nav and sync are pretty damn good, much better than the GT-R and as good or better than the wife's 11 QX56.
I'm considering the Ibis White color for R8 but am having second thoughts and may go silver, light blue or grey.
Sheeit that S4 looks so hawt
GF has a Alpine White 2011 528 and it gets dirtier than I expected, brown spots over the sideskirts and bumpers. What is your experience with 2 white cars (BMW is Alpine White I presume)?

Very nice on your GF F10 528......my wife wants a F10 535i 6MT, but I don't think we'll get it though.
Yeah...brown spots come up occasionally, but it's pretty easy to remove. Clay bar will do the trick, then follow with a layer of wax. If you have some fine scratches, then you may want to add in polishing before waxing. Between my wife and I, we've had 5 white, 2 silver, and 1 charcoal gray cars. I think silver was the easiest to deal with, but white is so sexy.

The 528 is f-ckin huge! I had to move sh-t around in my garage to accommodate it. IIRC it's based on the old 7-series platform. I don't know what it is with Asian girls at big cars, I told her to get a 335 sedan but she wanted an X5 so I guess the 528 is a compromise.
No, more like dirty water spots after it rains or when driven through puddles. It's much less noticeable on my meteor grey P-car.
Civicdrivr: Nice bike!! I thought the Daytona 675 came with the exhaust underneath the seat? I'm guessing you modded it. I'd love to rock the 2010 anniversary addition, white plastics and the blue frame!
I love the new SE, but I think I prefer the 675R more.
Thanks! It did come with an underseat exhaust stock, but I wasnt really a fan of it (especially the heat being so close to the rear shock). Im now running the Competition Werkes GP mount exhaust for the Street Triple.

Thats why I fell in love with it.My other bike isnt one you see every day either, its an 88 Honda NT650. This is what it used to look like before I tore it apart last year. Im still piecing it back together, but with ALOT of new parts.

You can barely see my other car in the background too, the 1990 Civic. I wont post pics of that since it probably wont be drivable anytime this year
yes. work hard play hard

just found out my partner is getting a GT-R. i'm jealous because thats what i wanted to pick up next year.

Didn't know you were into bikes. And I agree about the "nakedness" of the Honda being an appealing feature. Nice garage
used or 2012. I'm fighting the urge to modify mine now. Wife says no new sports cars until we upgrade houses (i'm with her). So maybe I can mod up the GT-R a bit. Full exhaust, AP and a tune would be a good start.

Just get a mid pipe and a tune for now and it makes a huge difference.
true. the 0-60 is already crazy. you really need something for the top end on the gtrs to make them be able to hang with the rest.

05 62k miles.

Would definetely buy one today if I wanted a sports sedan.

The Honda will stay naked.
