So I'm currently ~60% of the way through my Prelude pickup build (Project Prelute in this forum section) and couldn't help thinking about what my next build might be.
Thought I'd start a new thread and bounce some ideas around. I've got a thing for wagons, and this is my biggest inspiration right now, from Jalopnik in 2015:
(It's an Orthia with EK9ish bits)
Sadly Orthia isn't USDM. So I'm thinking of possible wagon combinations:
Integra DB8 front + DC2 rear = five door fastback
Civic EG sedan/coupe front + hatch rear = EG wagon/shooting brake
Accord 5th gen wagon with a front end swap
They have K24 insight's called K-sight's.
you then can boost the k24 if you wish.
N/A k-sight = 200 hp.
turbo k-sight = 200 - 400hp depending on which package you choose.
then, you can add a custom all wheel drive, drivetrain if you wish..
All from the company LHT in Florida
3G TL with similar vintage Accord Wagon? Or instead of a mashup, a 3G TL 2-door coupe (3G CL)?
I gotta say I'm feeling that, partly cos I already have a 3G TL...
The main obstacle I see though is reproducing the indented character line on the 3G TL. Otherwise, transplanting a 7G accord coupe door and quarter panel might have worked.

Very cool... ultimate sleeper. Wonder how it handles?
Though I was looking at the KR-Z and somehow that feels a little bit more up my alley. Probably because I used to have a CRX.
Perhaps a J-swapped CRX with a MR setup?? Nice large glass hatch for engine access and viewing.
Something along these lines would be on my list when I can afford to have another build that doesn't fit the whole family
Now THAT is the kind of build I'm dreaming about. But to answer Aman's question - yes I want to keep it in the family, at least for now.
My latest thoughts gravitate toward an Accord "SiR" Wagon - maybe a 5th gen wagon as a basis with a JDM 6th gen front and H22A swap...
What about something like a Del Sol hatch? Or an Integra 5-door wagon?
The next project would basically replace my UA7, so it has to end up being a practical family hauler - no Del Sol hatch. TBH the Integra 5 door wagon or fastback would be my favorite, but I'm leery of those frameless windows - those would probably make trimming and welding the already very tapered C-pillars tricky, and partly due to that I don't think I could make the lines flow very nicely to the rear.
Latest thought: Use a rear hatch from a wrecked civic EP3 to make a 1G TSX wagon. That would look better than the flat-ass OEM version...
Is the EP3 width compatible with the 1G TSX? Or would you have to taper the roof to meet the hatch?
RS7-esque RSX/TSX GranCoupe...
That sounds real sexy, although looking at the RSX/TSX side profiles, I don't feel like the RSX hatch shape looks different enough from the TSX trunk to trigger a parking lot double-take... TSX has a short trunklid and RSX has a relatively long 'deck' after the slope of the hatch glass. That said it could come down to which hatch is a better fit. Fastback is definitely hot.
I'm planning to buy CAD models to compare at some point... the TSX and RSX models are available on Hum3D, but not the EP3, so I need to look around some more.
Another point, with the RSX, you might not have to do as much on the rear end as you would with the EP3, since the liftback on the RSX doesn't cut as low as the hatch on the EP3.
