Can someone tell me how much slower a car gets with extra 200lbs?

No fat jokes please :o

How should i put this... ok if there were two stock CLS with the same driver... but one car had extra 200 pounds.

How much slower would the weight cause him to lose in the 1/4?

General rule of thumb is 0.1sec over the quarter for every 100lbs

A good rule of thumb is you lose 5hp for every 100 lbs you add

weight doesn't make you loose horse power, it just makes you slower

you both said "rule of thumb" at the same time

How cute:o

Thanks for the advice. Im wondering if i want to install both of my subwoofers or just one, after all my 1.8t audi is slow enough.

unless your racing your car you probably won't notice the diffrence. Go with the extra sub.

Jesel...Have you EVER had a flat tire and not had a spare? I have, and it sucks!

I hope the subwoofer match your lug pattern and rolls smoothly.

BTW, a co worker of mine crawled into work this week with a flat, so we put on the 60 psi baby spare, never used. It had 15 psi in it. lucky for him we have portable battery powered air compressors.

In other news, the CLS is in the shop getting fixed. The drivers rear and the rear window is out of the car and the drivers quarter panel has now been cut off. Man, it hurts to see that!

Well the past 3 cars i have taken out the spares in each one.

When i did get a flat it was in my own garage (overnight leaking air). Otherwise i havent had a issue. Plus thats what audi roadside is for

Don't forget...for every 100LBs you generally loose 1mpg.

GIAC chip clams 30hp, 60ftlbs? pretty nice over stock. that'd be 200hp/220ftlbs. Prolly need to rev in boost range and drop the clutch for high 14s

Well the car isn't a racer. I'm sure the chip really makes the driveability of the car much more enjoyable.

i agree. I dont think high 14s will be that easy as they make it sound.

Either way im just looking for a little bit to help the drive around town.

Also did my first autox today in the rain and love my car THAT much more.
