Nice blanket statement. How do you figure? Especially for a pleasure vehicle? Likely will never see the track, likely will never be driven too hard, likely will just be used for cruising, meets and get-togethers.
Of course a hard-top is more rigid and handles better (typically weighs less too), but if none of those features are being utilized, there's no need to go hard-top...

Add: Soft top maintenance is a pain, much less repair headaches and cost if it gets damaged to the point where it causes a leak. It's also a soft target (pun intended) for thieves. Wind noise is generally worse. Been there, done that on all of it.
This isn't an off-the-cuff statement for me. I've felt this way ever since I got into cars. I just don't see the appeal, unless it was a vehicle designed to be a drop top from the start. Hard-top verts are much better, but they still have their disadvantages.
It's not an opinion I'll ever change. You're more than welcome to them.

Good luck with getting the Chally. I test drove an '11 RT and an '11 Mustang GT convertible (no coupes available at the time); I didn't bother driving an SS because I would never buy that monstrosity. The RT was a much better drive. I can only imagine the SRT8 is even better.

I love topless motoring. Borrowing my brother's t-top MR2 a while back made me dead set on a t-top/targa car. It was also one of the reasons why I chose a Camaro at the time instead of a Mustang of the same vintage. At the very least, any car that I buy SHOULD have a sunroof.
It is apples and oranges since today's cars are much stiffer compared to their older counterparts, but after some quick googling, despite noted changes to improve chassis stiffness, the Mustang convertible exhibits cowl shake and doesn't rotate as well as it's hardtop counterpart. I like the way the Mustang looks with the top down, but with it up it doesn't look anywhere close to the hardtop. As mentioned, a purpose-built roadster is much better than a car that's normally a coupe but with a convertible option.
NJ, have you driven the Mustang convertible yet? And even still, since it'll be your leisure car I'm sure you can just keep it in the garage with the top down and not have to worry about vandalism as much either.

Don't get discouraged by the dealer...start looking around, especially on challenger talk.com. Lots of people are selling their rides at decent prices.
Glad you liked the drive. The more you're in the car, the more in love you'll be with the car. It just keeps giving.

It is the same at one of the Hemis...no, but it does impress. I had a Durango for two weeks on my vacation with the same motor and I was quite surprised how well it performed.
The old 3.5 6 cyl in the 09-10 is a dog turd that chrysler was smart to get rid of.

The 09-10 RT vs SRT is only a 50hp/0tq difference. So, its a little more comparable but that extra 50 can make a difference, plus if you start modding, forget it. I have less than 3k in my RT towards performance and tune and I'm putting nearly 400 tq down to the wheels. It keeps me happy

I haven't driven the convertible. After thinking about it, this will be my DD and I'm not sure a vert is a good idea. Two of my z's had t-tops and while I enjoyed them, I think a convertible would be much different. I sometimes drive to bad areas and don't want the issues with a knife. And I don't have a garage either :-(

I think the Mustang looks sweet. Covertibles are heavier but as for flex, we're not talking about a Classic Mustang here. They've come a long way with verts.
I would look for a hard top if I were you. And if you have norrowed it down to the Challenger or the Camaro, I would go for the Camaro myself!
Did I just pick the Chevy???

Nearly a 100 hp/75 tq difference between 2011 RT and SRT....The new 6.4L SRT is a BEAST that is highly underrated. A lot of people who have talked shit about them have ended up getting embarrassed at the track.

Anyway, if I was looking for a used one like the OP, I'd get the SRT over the RT...might as well . And who knows, maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to have a Chally (or Charger or 300) thread .

And what are the deals you spoke of when you said the 392 is not big bucks?

Why are they selling for deals? Look at our economy? Look at the new 6.4L which drives down the price? Look at the that they still a domestic company and resale values still arent the greatest?

Dodge Chrylser Jeep have been offering huge incentives all year on new models...I'm talking 4-9g off msrp. Of course you have meet requirements to get these deals...such as impeccable credit. But they are there.

Don't know what true car is.
But a loaded SRT with super low miles for 32k is a killer deal. Again, look at challenger talk to see what members there are trying to sell their cars for.
