Buying used tires
#4
No way Jose, tires are the only thing between you and the road. Is it worth it to save a few coins? Just work some OT at work to pay for new ones or buy Korean brands like Kumho, Hankook.
Personally I go with Michelin because they have lasted almost twice as long treadwise as other brands I have gone with.

I've bought (and then subsequently sold) a pair of Blizzak snow tires off Craig's List and it worked great.
Definitely some deals to be had there if you need some rubber on the cheap, but IDK if Ebay would work all that great. First of all you can't look at them in person to see if someone was giving you the "Myspace angle", and secondly I would consider tires to be local pickup only type items. I mean who wants to pay heavy duty UPS charges on cheap used tires? That kind of blows the deal right there IMO.
