Buy One Hyundai Get One Free

Two Cars For The Price of One

Reporter: Rosie Barresi

There are some amazing shopping deals out there right now, but perhaps this one is like no other. The Phil Long Hyundai Dealership of Chapel Hills has a BOGO sale going on, buy one car and get the other one for $1.

You might say it sounds too good to be true, but there are signs everywhere saying so.

The two questions you might be asking yourself, is there a catch and how could they afford to do it?

"You always think, well, what's the catch? There's not a real big catch," said Mick Flynn who is the Phil Long Hyundai General Sales Manager.

"It was literally $1," said David Lee who bought one car & got the other for $1.

So, if there's no catch then how can Phil Long afford it? Flynn says it all came down to this. "How can we help the general public and how do we help ourselves move vehicles?" said Flynn. He says everybody wins with this deal.

The Lee family says the second they heard about what was happening at the Phil Long Hyundai Dealership of Chapel Hills they knew they had to at least check it out. They say they did it for their family's sake. "My mother-in- law, Rita's mom, is on a fixed income and had a car payment. So by being able to do this we can get her a newer vehicle and relieve her of her car payment," said David Lee.

Times are tough and it's deals like this one people are looking for.

Flynn says they've already gone through close to 20 special deals, meaning they've already sold close to 20 cars for 100-pennies.

The offer is good on the Entourage, Santa Fe and Veracruz models.

Flynn says they plan to extend this deal at least through the first week of December.

I think Hyundai did this before or was it Kia? I usually wouldn't get a Hyundai but I wouldn't mind a pair of these if I had a wife and or family.

Okay, I think this is false.. I knew it sounded too good to be true...

Guys Its Buy 1 New And Get Used Vehicle For $1
When you buy a Limited Santa Fe, Limited Veracruz, or an Entourage, you get to choose from a selection of used vehicles for $1. The offer is extended through today, when would you like to come in and take advantage of the offer?

ECommerce Sales Manager
Phil Long Hyundai of Chapel Hills

The "selection" is probably piss poor..

thread fail... nothing to see here..

GREAT SALES IDEA!

A base model cheapo Hyundai could be equivalent to the current sticker sale for a loaded top model Hyundai.

For the sake of arugment, throwing out numbers:
$40k stickered limited veracruz could go for $31k right now.
$12k stickered base (whatever-the-f) could go for $9k.

If the two for one deal makes it so you MUST pay sticker for the veracruz, it is still $40k in hyundais pocket at the end of the day.

For every veracruz they sell, they could technically afford to give away the cheapo car for free. and all it takes is ONE sale, and ONE sucker. you move the cars twice as fast. Not to mention, the advertisements bring in everyone and their mother-in law into the dealership (literally, see story above)

Isn't that what they were doing at Kia when you could buy a ridiculously overpriced minivan and get one of their shitboxes for free?

All it is is a marketing gimmick. "Just like PUSH PULL DRAG in your car and we'll give you $3500!"
If you go to any other dealer, you can find the same cars for $5K cheaper, but you get $3500 for your barely drivable POS....

correct.

and it usually works best for their target demographic who are more prone to getting fleeced.
