The Tesla solar tiles are way too expensive. Their advertisements are quite misleading when they say they are roughly the same price as a conventional roof. First of all they compare it to a fancy tile or slate roof, not asphalt shingles. Secondly, they factor in tax breaks, the money saved from multiple roof replacements if it was conventional (because their roofs are "lifetime"), and money from solar power generation into their calculation.

After pricing it out for me in Texas, the roof would have been around $80,000 plus the $7,000 for a powerwall. This would have to be paid upfront. Then there would be a savings from power generation over the next 30 years, making the final cost after 30 years around $11,000 at Tesla's calculated power cost for my area.

I've got a very heavy trailer parked in front, hoping the rain holds off long enough to at least get the first load unloaded.

Photoshoot update

I had the opportunity to join a photoshoot with my two Acuras. The model was beautiful, but unfortunately also very tall and so pairing her with the NSX was a tad difficult.

Your cars are nice of course. The photographs are terrible. I'm so tired of these, I can't even call them amateurs, taking the same trite shots over and over again.

"Hey, I have some girl will get to half naked and stand next to your car. They'll make awesome photos."

But its not just that...they stuffed the cars in a tiny ass space with no creation of depth. No sense of focus.

The lighting...well, the cars blend into the wall, the model is lit hard and flat. Its ugly lighting, period.

The first shot of her in her underwear leaning against the rear fender. The person decided to shoot a wide angle lens and put her right on the edge where she is now distorted. Look at her head, its warped. You can't cheat physics and optics.

I'm sorry. Nice cars but these photos are hot garbage. That wasn't a photoshoot, it was a joke.

Thanks for the critique. I did not take the photos obviously, but now I know what to look for.

I have a lot of cars so I'm just tapped to provide props sometimes.

I dunno what you're looking at, but I'm definitely not looking at the background wall. Barely even looking at the cars either

Personally, I like the locale where the shots were taken. I think the photos look awesome. Sometimes I do just want to look at the car, and don't care about anything else. This might not be considered appropriate by photographers, but, to each their own. Art is VERY subjective.

When its art, sure. This isn't art. Not by a long shot.

You don't agree with my comments, thats fine. I could go off on just poorly he lit the model and the angles he shot her at that aren't flattering to her face.

But that's exactly what these chuckle heads are banking on...got a semi attractive girl, doesn't matter how shitty the photos are because people just want T&A.

And how can you even look at the car when half of it blends in to black and another 1/3 is covered by a poorly lit model?

The point I'm making about creating depth isn't the local itself. It's separating the car from the background so that it becomes the sole focus of the shot. You create the depth that wall is no longer in focus with the car. You light the car properly and it further separate from the background and stand out more. You know how to actually light a model and shoot for angles that flatter her face (individual case basis)...and you'll have an image that doesn't off looking like a cheap attempt at porn.

Very nice pickup and rides overall. The model? Well, lets just say I would kick her out of bed. More room on the floor

So instead of a lift in the garage, couldn't you just build/add on to your existing garage? I have a 4 car but it's split on either side of the house. Just curious.

I am out of land. I live in the suburbs. I wish we had a corner lot actually. Then I could probably put two garages with access to each street. But we're the second house from the corner.
