Need New Tires
The C is getting near to needing some new tires, 15k after I drove it off the lot.
Needless to say, the runflat Continentals (at $1,200 a set) will not be going back on.
Pretty strongly considering going with the same Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ that we have on our Flex, as they've been great on there too. Going high a high performance all-season for the longer life & am ok to sacrifice a bit of max performance for it. Also, given that the Sport pkg on the C gives a staggered setup, having non-directional tires would allow L/R rotation, without having to dismount the tires.
Browsing Tirerack, a couple other high-rated options are there as well.
225/40-19 & 255/35-19
Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+
Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric A/S
The Potenza is Tirerack's #1 rated high-perf A/S, followed by the Michelin; the Conti & Goodyear being 5 & 11, out of 28. The above are all UTQG 500 or more.
Even though I wasn't a big of fan of the Potenza my aunt had on her IS300 (back in 2005-7) they may take the lead over the Michelin due to being over $100 cheaper for a set & having a better warranty. Michelin halves the treadwear warranty on staggered setups.
Any others I should consider?

Ordered a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS for the C.
Discount made a great deal (price-matched TireRack & included road hazard) & they were ~$300 cheaper than the Michelins I was originally looking at.
The Potenzas are TireRack's top rated performance All-Season, just edging out the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ which was what I was originally planning on.
Should be going on Friday.

Short-term review, these Potenzas are quieter & manage road imperfections better than the Contis they replaced. Steering feels a bit more direct, though that could be a bit of placebo
Happy with them so far, will see how they handle the next Houston deluge of rain.

Followup on the Potenzas, still happy with them. No issues in heavy rain & on wet roads takes nearly full throttle to get any sort of slippage.
Back to the Mothership tomorrow.
-Command (infotainment) system has randomly rebooted 6-7 times in the last couple months
-Passenger headrest is stuck in the forward position (not addressed with last svc visit)
-Front end (RF suspension?) rattle over rough/washboard like road surfaces

It's not going anywhere for a while.
Dealer has me in a 2018 C300 (non-sport). A bit quieter than my 15, and the 9AT is quite smooth.

Back to the mothership today.
Pano roof decided to refuse to close on Saturday. It'll slide almost all the way forward, but won't close past the vent-mode position.
Having them check the rough idle after auto-stop/start as well, while it's in there.
In a GLA250 for a loaner. Not terrible, but can't say I'd buy one.

Not really sure.
Was driving on the highway like I always do and heard a pop of some sort and instantly lost power and had rough idling. Sounded like it was misfiring.
Eventually had it towed to the dealer and after a few days diagnostics, they said too much oil was put in at the last service which led to fuel leaking into the engine from the fuel injectors. Apparently a lot of fuel leaked. The fuck?.. they are completely unrelated. I took the car for the last service to a very reputable shop that works only on high end European cars.. so they know what they are doing.
Later, the dealer said the last oil change didn't use a 'Mercedes approved oil'. You fucking kidding me? They used an oil that meets and exceeds Mercedes' approved oil, it just isn't on their 'list'. So they were kind of trying to pull a 'might not be covered under warranty' thing because of the whole oil brand thing.
Eventually, the service manager said he 'pulled some strings' and made sure any needed fix would be under warranty; however, I still have to pay the diagnostics cost and cost for a new oil change.. apparently a little over $500 (which I'm completely fine with considering the full cost of labor and parts is probably astronomically more). At first they said it might need an engine rebuild or maybe even a new engine, whatever Mercedes warranty told them to do (cheapest option first).
So that cheapest option was to replace a spring. What spring? I have no idea. They go from engine rebuild to replacing a spring. Either way, last I heard this past Friday, they got it running again and the head tech is going to drive it around for a few days to make sure everything is working correctly.
Anyways, that's that. First loaner was a C300 with a really bad transmission and was overdue for service so replaced that with what is now a C300 that smells like an ashtray and TPMS doesn't work.

That's pretty insane. I know that MB only lists 1 or 2 'approved' oils for the C450/C43, but can't imagine how they could know what you used if the oil wasn't done at the dealer.
Glad it's getting resolved.
Shame their loaners are like that. While it's not ideal to be in a CLA or GLA, MB Woodlands keeps a clean stash of loan cars; so far I've had a CLA250, GLE350, GLC300, C300, GLA250. I request to not have a CLA because of the kids' carseats.

I completely agree. But I did look in the owner's manual and they said that if they find a non-approved oil was used, they don't have to warranty it. So as much as I want to bitch and scream about it, I'd rather not cause more frustration and just be done with it.
However, I still asked them for a full writeup of exactly what happened, why it happened, what they did to fix it, etc. Everyone I've told tells me that too much oil (which of course only the dealership says was the problem) would not cause something like this.

Dunno about Woodlands, but at this place you have to reserve your loaner like a week or so in advance because they have so many cars come through needing loaners. Mine was a bit of an out of the blue request so they were 'able to find one for me' in a couple hours.
I'd like to try the GLC300 but seems like 90% of their loaners are C300s... bare bones too. No nav, no XM, no sunroof, and worst of all, I have to use the remote to lock and unlock it.. I can't just touch the door handle. As stupid as it sounds, it is such a pain in the ass

How ironic.
About 15 min after my last post, the service guy called and said it was ready to be picked up.
Got there. I asked further info about if the oil really caused the problem and if I still had to pay anything. Well, apparently the oil was not at fault. It was some faulty 'something (waiting til the full report)'. They also said they worked it out with MB and I don't have to pay anything.
They are still finishing up the paperwork compiling what all was wrong with it and what they did to fix it, so I should get that tomorrow. But it is fixed under warranty and I didn't pay a dime. The way it should be. Will post more info when I have it about what happened and what was fixed.

Day 2 in the GLA & I'm missing the C. The 7DCT is sooo sloppy/sluggish compared to the 7AT in the C, and it's so much less stiff compared to the C, just not as confidence inspiring in the bends.

Still diagnosing the rough auto-stop idle.
Was having a fuel smell in the garage if I went out to put something in the car before work, then came back to the car 10-15 min later. Supposedly a misaligned fuel pipe.

Car was supposed to be done Wed evening/Thur morning, haven't heard anything.
Biggest gripe on the GLA, it has the gas tank the size of a thimble. Just driving to/from work, I've burned 3/4 tank, nowhere near what the C uses (GLA has a 5gal smaller tank). The C gets marginally better MPG, too.

Back in the C after a week in a GLA.
So far, the few tiny intermittent rattles in the pano roof are gone, guessing they lubed the spots where it was originating, or the new roof rails also helped. Open/close operation is smoother/quieter now as well.
Picked up the car on Friday on the way to my daughter's school performance, get to her school & the driver's seatbelt isn't retracting Also, both front seat height adjusters are stuck & immovable.
Call dealer back before the performance starts, set up a loaner for Saturday
Luckily, they got it fixed in a bit over an hour. Guessing they had to pull the pillar covers to drop the headliner to work on the pano roof. Something must've not been put back correctly on reassembly.
So far, all's good

Had a slow leak in the LR tire. Took it to Discount, not repairable, 3" staple in the tire, holes too close together for repair.
When I bought these tires, I had intended to order via TireRack, as they had free shipping & free road hazard, and get DC to install. Got Discount to price match & add the road hazard.
Turns out, they price matched but didn't add the road hazard
Luckily, the mgr at the DT I went to, knocked the price of a replacement tire down & I'm out the door for less than the base price of the tire.
also lucky, they had 1 available 'used' tire in stock that they put me on for the day, since the C is sans spare.

Normal?
Set A/C to auto, usually 72-74*
Just about every morning & worse at night. This was about 20 minutes after leaving the house.
Even manually setting the A/C to blow through the dash vents or floor, it still directs a small amount of air to the windshield & results in this.
Will be making another appt to have it checked, again. Along with a couple other things that have come up: Random infotainment reboots, small sunroof squeak after it's been open, auto-stop has stopped working (non-issue, but want it checked).
