Bridgestone discontinuing LS-V tire?

Hi all. I'm in the market for a new set of all-seasons for my TSX. I called the local shop to see if they had the Bridgestone LS-V in stock and what their price was. I also had Tire Rack up at the same time to compare prices. I asked the guy at the local shop if they had the tire in stock, and he came back and told me they don't. I then had him check on the Potenza Pole Position, and he didn't have that one, either.

He also told me that Bridgestone is discontinuing the LS line, so down the road if I blow a tire, I might not be able to get a new one. Has anyone else heard this news? I'd like to get the new tires on ASAP so I don't wear down my snows, so I need to make a decision quickly.

I think I'll also email Tire Rack customer service and see what they say.

TIA!

I sure hope not. I put a set of LS-V's on my TSX in August and I love them. They were very hard to come by and everywhere I called, they had to be ordered from various locations.

Hmmm. Maybe the difficulty in finding them is indication they aren't making them anymore. My local shop didn't have them and I was going to order them from Tire Rack until he mentioned the discontinuation. I don't want to be up the creek without a paddle, so to speak, if I need to replace one later on. Maybe I'll just go with the Potenzas instead. Dangit, I was all set on getting the Turanzas

Hey Luv do you have discount tires or just tires up there in Jersey? Btw, that sucks because Turanzas are sweet, my dad had them on his old I35.

I'm thinking Dunlops for me as my next tire choice or Goodyear Eagles.

No, we don't have Discount Tires here that I know of, at least not in this area. We do have lots of STSs though. My issue is I don't want to buy a set of tires that are discontinued, then if by chance I blow a tire and need to replace just one, I can't find it because they don't make them anymore. I'll probably just go with the Potenza Pole Position and get them from Tire Rack. No real biggie, I just really wanted to know if they are for sure being discontinued.

Yup, it's official, they are being discontinued and replaced with Bridgestone Serenity. No mention of when the Serenity tires will be available. As of yet, they are not on Tire Rack's site. Here's the email from Tire Rack for anyone who is interested:

Hi Jackie,
Thank you for your e-mail and questions. Yes this is correct. The Turanza LS-V has been around for several years and Bridgestone has redesigned this tire to update the technology. The new tire is call the Turanza Serenity. We do still have some of the LS-V tires in stock.
If you have any further questions or would like to place any additional orders, please contact me direct. If it is more convenient for you to place your order over the internet please use my name in the "previous contact" box so that if there are any problems I can take care of them for you. This will lessen the chances of delays and I do receive credit for assisting customers.
Thank you,
