Post Brabus S V12 BiTurbo (0-62 in 4.0s)

German supertuner Brabus has transformed the Mercedes S 600 into what it modestly calls "the world's fastest and most powerful luxury sedan." It doesn't sound like exaggeration, either - the Brabus V12 S Biturbo puts out a stunning 730 hp and a peak torque of 974 foot-pounds through a hard-working 5-speed automatic transmission.

The standard 5.5-liter engine is stroked and bored to 6.3-liters, and gets a full porting treatment, special camshafts and bigger turbochargers. All that engine work pays off with a 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds. Pretty damned impressive for a two-ton sedan! Top speed is restricted to a modest 211 mph.

21-inch wheels, monster brakes with 12-piston calipers up front, 6-piston in the rear, an aero body kit, and an uprated suspension complete the picture for the uber-sedan.

those transmissions cannot handle that much torque, hence why the 65 amg's have 5 speed transmissions as well.

Try again... SL65 comes standard with a 7sp auto, and it does just fine with 800ft-lbs+.

No...

http://www.mbusa.com/models/features...65&class=06_SL

Transmission AMG-enhanced driver-adaptive electronic 5-speed automatic. Driver-adaptive programming adjusts shift points to the driver's current driving style. Touch Shift allows driver to manually downshift and allow upshifts by nudging the shift lever left or right from the Drive position. Shift into Optimum Gear programming allows one-touch selection of the best gear for maximum acceleration or engine braking by holding the shift lever to the left of Drive for one second. Driver-selectable Comfort mode starts vehicle moving in 2nd gear or a second Reverse gear, and upshifts at lower rpm, to help improve control on slippery surfaces.

Ok, explain why the window sticker from when I bought the car states it has a "7 speed drive-adaptive automatic with AMG SpeedShift". I haven't been through all the gears yet as I've had no need, highest I've been is 4th in SS mode. Maybe there is a difference I'm not aware of from 2005 to 2006? Once again I don't care what you believe, would you like a picture of me with my d*** in the grille of the car holding the documents for the car?

I posted pics once already, they should still be up. That still doesn't explain the wording on my window sticker.

Post up the window sticker.

2005 also had 5-speeds. Was your car custom made for you?
