Bought car from dealer on 3/22/2010 - still no title/registration: What do I do?

Return the car and move on. I would not buy another car from them since they've obviously proved they are inept. Find a dealer that actually knows how to sell cars.

I would still push the complaint through to motor vehicles so they get fined for doing something so stupid. You bought the car, it's every bit as much yours as you think, you have a bill of sale to show that it's yours, so I don't know why you think they can legally take it back from you.

Give it back and get all of your money back.
Look at it this way: you rented a car for 5 months for free.
Did you have to put any parts/labor/maintenance into it? If so I'd ask for compensation for those items as well. If it was just an oil change or two you probably won't go far with that but you never know if you don't ask.

Bullshit they can still get it titled to you even if the person was deceased. I bought my first car from someone who was deceased. All it takes is someone in the family with power of attorney or whom that car was given to under will to go to the DMV with you and sign it over. Find out who they are and contact them.

Sounds like they seriously effed up and are not telling you the real story.
Even if the previous owner is deceased, the executor of the estate can get the title in his/her name, then turn it into the dealership for the normal process. They make it sound as if all is lost if someone passes away. Gimme a break.
If they are not willing to pursue the title process, then there is realistically no hope of you ever getting the title and legally getting it under your name. At that point, there is no point in holding on to a potential headache. Think about the nightmare when the time comes for you to sell the car.
Return the car, get every penny back, go to another dealership. You just drove a Lexus for free for 5 months. You can find another one just like it elsewhere.
