the M5 is kind of an automatic with the SMG. it's a clutchless shift.

Thanks for explaining SMG, pretty sure nobody here had any idea what it is!

BTW I must admit you bring the funny despite being as full of shit as a Christmas turkey. I also admire your moxy, you get repeatedly kicked in the teeth and groin here but show back up 5 minutes later like nothing ever happened! Then again in this context moxy and single digit IQs probably manifest themselves in about the same way.

The car only lost 7% when dyno'd at whp...that's very impressive. The car looks nice, at $28k with 15k miles... I guess it's a decent price.

All those cars on the list was my idea. He didnt even know what was out.

Plus i love the GTO, CTS-V, z06...etc... (being in MI a lot has brainwashed me)

He didnt like the GTO because it felt too heavy and he couldnt get use to the clutch. In otherwords the car scared him with how much power it had.

06 GTO
Fun car with LOTS of low end torque. Barely had to touch the pedal to get it moving. The clutch is kinda heavy and the car felt really like an old muscle car, a huge pile of heavy steel. Back seat was very comfy but was the worse coupe to get out of that i ever been in.

05 Legacy GT
I have nothing but respect for this car. It handles great and has plenty of power. Slight turbo lag but not bad. Exterior styling is kinda bland but for the price who can complain. I totally would get one.

03 330i with performance package
Hands down a soild and most fun car out of the bunch. Short Shifter on the car makes a worlds of difference and the handling feels close to a E36 m3.

04 330ci
Standard BMW, good steering handled well but the one we drove had too many issues. Weather stripping and such were coming off of it and sunroof was beat to hell. We drove it for 3min and returned back to the dealer.

04 G35 (auto and manual)
Wow the sound is just amazing and the interior isnt as bad as most say. Fit and finish of it looks great. Everything is well placed but the orange dash still bugs me. The seats rock but im too wide for them, i couldnt "fit" inbetween. The gearbox and clutch fit the car perfectly. Very sporty and i can see why it stole sales from the 3series.

06 TL- Such a great looking car inside and out. I was able to drive it and thought the gear box felt great. I really love the navigation and how everything is controls by voice. This car has too many nice toys to play with. The steering and torque steer turned him off to it though. They really did improve the handling of the car by a huge margin from the 2nd gen TL.

06 Jeep GCL(auto and were willing to take 7k off the bat)
Totally not like my brothers 96 GCL. The new one drives like a car and is very smooth. You can tell none of the cars were selling since most had low tire pressure and one had to get jumped to start. BUt they totally willing to deal on them which made the suv worth it. I wasnt a fan of the interior material though... felt way too cheap but the layout was perfect.

06 CTS
Im not sure what they used for the dash but it has like a hard plastic texture with dots all over it. The leather felt nice though.

05 STS (15k miles for $30k! )
Love the exterior and interior is well thought out. Cadillac is headed in the right direction. He just didnt like it because of the size.

06 A4 2.0t
Didnt have enough power and just didnt feel as connected to the road as a BMW. Plus with options it costs more than its worth. Didnt try to look for a used one because he just wanted the bmw at that point.

04 S4.
Meh, maybe i overhyped this car but i truely didnt enjoy myself. I might be use to my modded A4 but the S4 handling was lacking quiet a bit compared to an M3 i drove before. It seriously doesnt feel exciting like i mentioned before, i totally pick an M3 over this.

Cliffs:
I will forever be a BMW whore and cant wait to go back to them.

Thanks for the review!

I wonder how pricing will be in a few years when they're like 3 years old. I think 04 TL's are already in the mid teens no?

WTF? ok, i dont keep up with much of the bashing that goes on here with you, but i remember a number of threads here about you not having a job, about having to sell your old cars, no money, blahh blahh, getting seperated, and so on. But all of the sudden your girl can afford an M5?

Cant you use the money for something more necessary?

Very few lisings at the mid teens:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...en&cardist=103

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=1154

There's a couple more for high teens with decent mileage. Either non-disclosed issues or great deals.

Living in Michigan always inspired me to want an Acura, Audi, BMW, or Infiniti. I get really sick of seeing Malibus and Tauruses mile after mile. Mid-Illinois is no different. Actually, there are many fewer SUVs in mid-state Illinois than there are in Michigan ... thankfully! And yes, I am not talking about the UIUC campus, most college campuses are clogged with Cavaliers and Corollas.

Typos, misprints, or outright lies... You'd have a tough time finding an 2G TL w/ that kinda mileage at those prices...

The dealer ad is probably a typo, the private sale one is probably a scam...

I lived in Pittsburgh for like 8 mos and I was amazed how many domestic sedans were on the road. Down in Miami the only domestics you see are trucks/SUV's or something with a large V8. SRT4 is the exception.

I can prove the silver one w/ 23K miles is a typo (cause they just fixxed the price)

edit: for some reason autotrader search hasn't been working for me in FF... IE is a little better, but I still get errors...

Yeah, my fiance has the 06 330i and the ride is harsher than I remembered, but a tad smoother than my TL A-SPEC suspensions.
I think my next car will be a BMW as well.

Yeah, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has a lot of ads for non-Detroit brands compared to the Detroit News, but it's not like every car on the road is from Bowser Nissan or Bowser Subaru.

Anyways, i love everything about this car and it totaly drove much nicer than my Audi A4. BMWs are totally a different beast, even at the 325 trim.

BTW, i didnt buy it. My best friend did today, it was an 06 325i with sport package with a 6-speed. Had 15k miles so I talked them down to $28k. I thought it was an ok deal but there werent many E90 6-speed used out there. So we were limted.

Basicly point of the thread was that the 325 is a great car and not just for "people who want the name" anymore.

Heres the exact car he bought.

my 2004 M3 is a blast. can't wait to see the e90 beast.
