Better handling car

S2000 or EVO. I know one is RWD while the other is AWD but I've always wanted to know peoples opinion on this.

I have driven both many times. the Evo is by a good margin a better handling car. I track raced both of them and I was racing in the same class. I was up with the porches and the other elite track cars with the evo. when I took the s2000, I was up with the pack but I just couldnt keep up. One car I would put against the s2000 is the rx8 not the EVO. your talking two totally different monsters.

What year was the S2000? They've made some big changes in the past few years.

i would think the S2000. with the 50/50 weight distribution and rigid chassis and light weight, it would be able to take on any other cars on the corners. the S2k's FR setup also takes you around the corners like nothing and probably alot more fun around the track..

i would think maybe the evo was keeping up with other cars because of its quick speed pickup after the corners since its able to grip the track right after cornering..

The changes from the ap1 to the ap2 make it more "streetable" not a better race car. Many feel the higher revving ap1 is a better car to race because the power band his larger and when your racing your in it the whole time, the ap2 has more horsepower and low end torque, but that doesn't mean much when you have an additional 1k RPM's in Vtec with the 2.0.

If I were to buy a street legal race car in that price I'd be all over a low mileage elise, my

The Evo is better at 10/10th handling if you are talking pure limits. For me on the street the S2K is easier to drive at 8/10th, more tossable and feels lighter and more responsive, only on the track do the rally monsters become more fun to drive. But for fun to drive on and off the track nothing makes a better 2nd car than the Elise as someone mentioned.

Real life is a bit different, the best handling car for one person may not be the best for another. The more comfortable you are with a car, the better driver you will be.

Evo. How do I know this, the Evo is 2 classes ahead of the S2000 in AutoX classification. I've seen both perform at an AutoX track and at Limerock and a stock Evo is significantly faster than a S2000 through the curves. In addition, the Evo doesn't have the snap oversteer issue the S2000 has

I doubt it. And I'd bet a lot of money an NSX-R would win.

thats what i would think. NSX-R, no question. that car is

i have a vid where they compared the NSX to the NSX-R, and man, does that car corner... i dont even care that its a six cyl, the NSX is pure sex

back to the topic, i would think an evo would out handle an s2000, but like others said those cars are in different classes.

i've seen miatas pull some crazy times at auto-x (tuned though not stock).

I think a lot of it would come down to the track layout, the NSX would have a tough time losing it on a tight track. Hell a Type R would give a NSX a great fight on a tight track. Gotta remember the NSX while an awesome machine is very outdated

True its outdated.

The NSX-R has managed to keep up for its age. A good example would be the Motegi Battle where the NSX-R stayed in 1st place against the newest Ferraris and Lamborghinis until the end. It only lost due to lack of speed in the straights..

But you bring up an excellent point, its ALL about the track.

I autocross we got guys running EVOs and S2Ks out at SCCA Cen Div Ohio Valley Reg. I'm not taking anything from Honda/Acura cause I've driven the S2K and it's still amazing car. If you're looking for a strictly car "on rails" through corners I'd go with the (when it comes out) Evo 10 MR edition. a guy I run with out at Ohio Valley Region has a EVO XIII mr edition he has a few bolt ons like strut bar, cai, header, exhaust, changed rims and tires and hooks up WELL through most corners.
I'm used to driving Front wheel drive cars hard so driving the S2K when you push the car hard it doesn't "scoot" the front end like my CRX or most Hondas. It will kick out the back end. if you're more "old school" driver and used to Mustangs,Cameros and GTOs then this is you're ticket.

I'm sorry, I love honda and support the NSX, but Best Motoring tests were a total joke. Take a look at the tires it was using compared to it's competition

he was running on R compound tires. They don't mention it but there are a few shots in the video where you see it clearly
