Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2011
I spent this past Thursday afternoon at Barrett-Jackson. The batteries in my digital died on me, so I wasn't able to take as many photos as I hoped. Sorry the picture quality isn't great. It's time to get a new camera.
My impressions were this year it seemed much more balanced between the GMs, Fords and Mopars than in previous years. There seemed to be as many rare Mustangs and Cudas as there were Corvettes and Chevelles. I've never seen as many number matching Mopar Hemis before as I did this year. Same went for Mach 1s, Boss 302s and Boss 429s.
The car I was drooling over the most was an all original red 1971 Buick Skylark GS Stage 1. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of it. The most impressive custom car was by far the mid-engined 1000hp twin-turbo black Corvette you'll see in one of the photos. Incredible work done on that car.
The Ford display was pretty impressive. They had a new Boss 302 displayed on it's side so you could see the underside. You'll see the impressive quad exhaust set up in one of the photos below.

Damn, looks like it was a good time this year.
Nice pics ST, I always love when the put cars on jogs so you can see them on their sides, etc...
I didn't make it, despite it being less than 5 minutes from my house.
That orange Boss 302.

I've been watching the auto auction on tv for the past 2 days. The 1000 hp Corvette looked bas assed on tv too.
I also loved the yellow 2011 Mustang custom.
Plus all the 60's and 70's muscle cars.
Looks like it's an absolutely great time.

Yeah, but only one was an actual Holman/Moody/Ford (albeit with quite a few aftermarket parts). Still nice though. It's good to see the restorations (not the restomods) were reasonable. Most think it's a trend that will continue. But then again, most don't think BJ is truly reflective of the marketplace anyway.
I loved seeing more of the older stuff too. The Chryslers, Lincolns, and Cadillacs.
