AZ News Story on Street Racing... WTF?
So I'm watching the local news last night and saw a preview for a news story about street racing coming up. I kept my TV glued to the channel so I could catch it.
***Starts at 2:35 unless you want to watch about road rage, 18 wheelers in swimming pools and killer bats***
http://www.kpho.com/video/15886773/index.html
So after watching the video is anyone else wondering how exactly this guy is against street racing? It starts off making you think he's totally reformed and anti-street racing, but by the end you soon realize he still street races "but in remote locations, not like traditional street racing swerving in and out of traffic at high speeds." I thought traditional street racing WAS lining up one on one in a remote location and only going up to say 80mph or so? Isn't the newer version of street racing swerving in and out of traffic like maniacs? But then they contradict themselves and show the Lambo video of it doing 200+mph on the Santan 202, which at the time the video was shot was mostly closed exits and still being developed, so technically it was a remote location with very little if no traffic.
I just don't get how this guy got an interview on TV about stopping street racing when he admits he still does it but defends it with it's better than those really crazy street racers who swerve in and out of traffic. I am definitely not innocent of street racing and would never lie and say I've never done it or don't do it now. I do get caught in the occasional stop light to stop light race on the street every once in a great while, but if you're still doing it they why would you ever want to go on TV and admit it to the world and try to convince others not to do it??? I just don't get it.![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Anyone else agree or disagree?
