Audi Service Followup and loaner review

So i dropped of my A6 to get that FREE total front end paint job and even got them to throw in some "touch up" painting of some door trim that had been dinged. they said it should be back around wednesday or thursday. i love it. i didnt even have to put up a fight and im getting about 4,000 in bodywork and parts for absolutely not even a cent!!

anyhow, my free loaner for the week is a 2002 A4 3.0 quattro.

compared to my A6 2.7T, its quite different. the steering and suspension are ALOT sportier and tighter. after getting used to my A6, the steering is so tight, it almost feels like the power steering is gone on this A4, lol, thats how much tighter it is! the A4 3.0 is definately not as fast as my 2.7T, however, one thing i noticed right away is that on the A4, not only do you have paddle shifters on the steering wheel, you also have full control over 1st gear in tiptronic mode, unlike the A6 where it automatically shifts to 2nd gear....i wish i had the ability to control 1st gear in my car, oh well. the A4 is definately alot smaller, im much happier in a slightly older A6 than a brand new A4, its just too small for my tastes, i cant find a comfortable spot for the seat, the A6 seats are much more comfortable and have additional adjustment characteristcs than the A4. the A4 stock stereo also isnt that great, mostly due to the lack of the factory subs that the A6 has. the A6 just seems all around like a higher calibur vehicle, which is obviously the intent of Audi, but the A4 would be a great car for a woman or a smaller guy or younger guys, i dunno, im young but i have no second thoughts about getting the bigger A6.

its going to be a fun little car and i look forward to enjoying it while i can!

Weird, i hated the 01 2.7t that i had as a loaner. The steering felt really loose, even my brother noticed it and he drives a maxima. :o

But im sure it was just the car i had.

i dunno, it might just be a matter of taste or what people are used to, the steering on my A6 is quite loose, but i have to say i like it that way, its effortless to steer, but it holds the road tight. its just the actual tension on the steering wheel is ALOT less than the A4 loaner i have.

Oh my bad, i guess i read your post wrong. I thought you were saying your A6 had a tighter steering feel than the A4.
