Audi RS4 on Ebay!!!

This car just sold for $34K US!!!! How crazy is that? They are running around $80K new. The car only has 22K miles on it! The only problem is that it is in Italy, but who cares! I think it would be the best damn wait ever! This is probably one of the most refined automobiles around! Definately one of my top choices in cars! It has everything: looks, speed, confort, etc...I LOVE IT! I wish I had an an extra $34K lying around...:P

ruvz 12-15-2002 01:30 AM

would you really trust an ebay seller who is new with no feedbacks (located in Italy) with a 34K purchase?

bkknight369 12-15-2002 03:25 AM

aww man...first of all, its looks like a mini-minivan...i dont care how fast it is, asthetics count for something ;)

yea i agree with ruvs...thats too good of a deal (if the car is actually work $80k) to buy over ebay. plus, if the buyer is in america, im sure there will be complications checking on the car...did you notice that the seller didnt leave any contact information, and didnt list the actual condition of the car...not a good sign

bkknight369 12-15-2002 03:27 AM

regardless though, i wouldnt pay even $30k for a new one if it was widely sold in america. now, if it came in a coupe form, that'll be different :D

that shit is tight. you gotta get hooked up like that amir :D

Gator CL-S 12-15-2002 08:46 AM

Since you brought this up, i have a question....yesterday i saw a white RS4 sedan (last year's body style) on the way home from work. I thought they only made an S4???

JakeCL 12-15-2002 11:33 AM

that seller is a moron, havent they ever heard of the dupont registry?

clscls6s 12-15-2002 12:47 PM

My guess is that they meant to have a reserve price on that auction and forgot to include it.

From the listing: "Once the auction has run to completion and the reserve has been met the buyer and seller will have a legally binding contract."

I bet they don't sell it for that. It's a complete steal, if they do.

BLK CLS 12-15-2002 01:44 PM

You can't just ship an RS4 over. Audi of America has made that pretty difficult. It can be done, but it also costs $$$$. People saw this on audiworld too, but it didn't look legit.

There is no RS4 badge on the grille, and the seller has no feedback?

Yes, EPA/DOT certification is certainly not cheap. That's why companies that do certify them in the US sell them for $85k+.

Yep, no feedback and a new ID. With all of the scams related to foreign vehicle sales on eBay lately, it's pretty likely a fake.

jimcol711 12-15-2002 06:20 PM

its a grocery getter wagon, no thanks....i dont care how much power its got, i would never pay anything more than 5k for a fucking wagon....why get a car like that in the wagon style??

Wagons are huge in Europe, which is why stuff like the RS4 and the RS6 are available in wagon form.

Funny - in the US, tons of people want SUVs, most of which suck gas and drive/ride like trucks, when an all-wheel-drive wagon like the S4 Avant or the Allroad would be substantially more practical.

First of all, there is no possible way in HELL you saw a white RS4 sedan, because they don't make the RS4 in a sedan!

Second of all, if any of you on this board knew what that car was capable of you wouldn't be clowning it! It is a crazy automobile! I wish I could get it! Plus it doesn't look like an ordinary station wagon...soccer mom car....or any of the obove! That car has more balls than anyone on here EVER will...with any of the cars they will ever own! This isn't trying to be a dick head, I just love the car! So you may have your opinions, but I am allowed to have mine to!

Third of all, I never said that the sale was legit....my point in the post was saying that if that person actually got a RS4 in good condition for that price....then it's a steal! At most the car would probably cost another $20K to get over to America with all of the regulations and transportation and everything! That would still be a steal at $54K considering they sell for $80K+! Just my 2 pennies.

MistaE13A 12-15-2002 07:26 PM

Yeah, it's a nice car and all, but they definitley need to make a coupe version cuz it looks like a stationwagon/minivan.

and ebays good, i buy lotsa things off their for a good deal, but this car for soo cheap i wouldnt trust with no rating seller

By the way, nice ass car BLK CLS!!! I love your car, and Nogaro is by far THE nicest color....and then you even got the Alcantara!! That is exactly what I am trying to sell my car to get! I want an '01/'02...I have been looking to sell my car for a while! I read Audiworld all the time cause my best friend drives a silver 2001 S4 Stage 2 +.....HE RIPS ME A NEW ONE EVERY TIME WE RACE!!! I HATE IT! Another one of my friends got a 2000 Nogaro with just black leather interior with 20K miles. He is picking it up this Saturday! I am sooooo jealous! And you know the shitty part about it is that I am the one that introduced them to the S4. It has been my dream car for quite some time....just not my pockets dream car! :D So if you happen to come across any Nogaros let me know!

And if you would either post or Email me pictures of your car....I am interesting in seeing it! Looks like you got a nice list of mods! You tracked it at all? Let me know. Thanks in advance!

Rieger RS4 Bumper getting painted as we speak :)

bkknight369 12-16-2002 03:32 AM

nice pics guys...but ive seen a decked-out old-style camry stationwagon with chrome 20s that looked real cool too...doesnt mean i would want to refinance my house for it :D

bkknight369 12-16-2002 03:33 AM

ill take your s4 though BLK CLS

Johnny Rad 12-16-2002 10:42 AM

IF it was real, I'd flip the RS4 and make something in the neighborhood of $40K and buy a new V8 S4. All in all, I'd only be out $10K instead of $35K.

Ok now with those Mods what kind of number do you turn? 0-60 and 1/4? Im looking into either an S4 or an A6

charliemike 12-16-2002 10:52 AM

Wagon haters =)

If I could only afford one car, and needed the room of an SUV/Wagon but wanted a car I'd enjoy driving, then an S4 Avant would be the way I'd go. I'd get the best of both worlds and not have to comprimise much =)

6spdCL-S 12-16-2002 11:12 AM

This is a scam!

There was an article in the paper about this seller doing this with several cars for sale. They list these cars at "too good to be true prices" and then require a 10% down payment to hold the car. The only catch is they provide you with wiring instructions to a bank account in Lithawania or some crazy country like that and then they keep your money and you are screwed. They also ripped off the vins numbers from dealers online websites that were selling cars and then re-listed them at 30-40% off the prices and screwed about 10 people out of some serious money.

Jim,
sometimes you say the STUPIDEST things i've EVER heard anybody say. I"ll take that wagon and SPANK you and practically 99.9% of the cars out on the road.

TheModMole 12-16-2002 11:36 AM

Any "Wagon" that can run a 911 and beat it or hang with it is kick ass.... as much as I hate wagons id sport that one like nobodies business!
