audi A4 3.0 or G37x coupe
well i have a year left on my tsx lease and leaning twords the G37 awd coupe, just looks like such a sweet sports car, and 330hp! like a baby GTR. also really like the new audi A4, very nice interior but close to 4000lbs and not as fast.

OP, you sound like you will once again lease. I would pick the A4. Have you driven one? They are pretty peppy cars in the 2.0T. And you if still aren't satisfied with the speed, they can be chipped very easily.
Audi has come a LONG way from the days of their cars being riddled with problems. And if you are leasing, you'll have the car back to them with in warranty anyway.
My friend has a 2 year old A4 2.0 quattro. Its very smooth and peppy. He did the audi track day event for the all new A4 and was blown away.
G sedans. They are nice but I'm already over them.

The A4 will be quite a bit more then the G37, if you compare them comparably equipped. In that price I would also check out the 3 series, you kind of owe it to yourself. All are great cars, you just have to find what flavor you like best.

My choice:
1. G35x 2. 328xi 3. A4 2.0T

I find it funny, you previously had the 3 series and I previously had the G35 and our number one and two are opposites. I guess one always wants what they don't have.
My complaints about the G is that it always felt very heavy and despite riding very hard it didn't handle well, combine that with hugely fluctuating fuel economy and leather that was wearing, what I felt was prematurely and I think I'd roll the dice on the 3 series next time.

Does OP need AWD? I'd get the one that feels better when driving.
In my search for a replacement car, I test drove an A4 2.0T 6M about two months ago- really nice, refined and not slow. Better shifter/clutch than the 335is. I didn't drive an auto trans since I wouldn't get a small displacement engine with an auto.
I haven't tested the G37 yet, but I found the G35 (auto trans) to be a little noisy, and I hated the heavy clutch on the 6M G35, although the shifter was OK.
FWIW, the 3.2 V6 A4 is a heavier (also costlier!) car, so the 0-60 time was no more than 0.2 quicker than the 2.0T in some magazine tests, IIRC.

A4 all the way.
They are very and I understand that they have gone long strides in improving their reliability. It may not be a Honda, but no where near the Audi's of before.
Besides, everyone and their mom has a G.

I test drove the G35S sedan when I was looking at the E90 335i and I loved it but put it in a close second. I agree with everything you said about it being a heavier car. However, I feel that the G37 is now, with the revised engine a much better value than the 328i.

G37 for sure
Either would be a big step up from a TSX (no offence intended). The TSX is not a light car at almost 3500 lbs with the auto and 200HP is just not enough to have any fun with.
I had a tough time replacing my CL-S6... It was quick with every bolt on. For me the choice was between the 335i and the G37s, and the G37 won in pretty much every department except trunk space. I had a BMW 328 (same as a 335i minus the twin turbos) as a rental for three weeks... it handled really well, but it was sooo plain and frumpy.

I have had the G37 for couple of months now and it is really fast... it is about the same weight as the CL and equivalent HP of a CL with a SC.
Go with the G. or if you are really stuck on Audi go with the R8

I am speaking not of the G37x as I have no experience with that... they aren't even out here yet and they are a bit heavier at 3847.
#21
You are right... the CL-S is a little lighter at 3510 (auto) 3446 (6MT) vs the G37S at 3642 lbs. I have to tell you though the G feels lighter perhaps because it much torqier than the CL... Maybe the weight difference is putting real brakes (4 piston callipers and 14' rotors) on the Infinity

Feels lighter because it has better weight distribution and much better low-end torque

have you quoted a 3.0 A4? is pretty damn expensive for what it is. hence, the lack of 3.0s you see on the road.
also, audi leases heavily vary depending on the age of the generation. the lease quotes now will be far from reality when you go shopping in 12 months. then again, who knows where the car market will be in 12 months.
dollars aside, the G37 was played out before it even hit the streets. go with the A4.

Now that you mention it I really notice the low end torque... especially with the 6MT. The Cl would be unhappy at low RPMs while the G just pulls even if you should be down a gear. I do miss the VTEC rush of power though. I also think that the rear wheel drive contributes to a lighter feel in cornering.

I guess the tipping point for me is interior materials, the G seemed to wear much faster then I am comfortable with. I would rather sacrifice a bit of HP for better interior materials, in particular the quality of leather on the seats. If Infiniti offered a premium leather the tables would turn, but then factor in driving dynamic and overall feel I would go BMW... then again I haven't driven the new Audi, I just know it will be 335i money and then it is no longer a viable option, IMO.

i really want an AWD car, both would be about the same price to lease, im leaning twords the G but considering buying out my TSX, its just such a nice car, like 50 more HP would be sweet, plus buying it out would cost me same as a 3 yr lease so at the end ill have something. just hope reliability holds up.
also considered the 328xi coupe but not worth the $ in comparison

I had a REALLY hard time between the G35 sedan and 328i.
G35 has such an incredible automatic tranny. I had a blast with it and was amazed how smooth it was. Engine was fast has hell but didnt feel all that smooth compared to the I6 in the 328.
Major thing for me was that the 328 had a better steering feel. While the G35 did have a good feel in steering feedback, i just thought the 328 was that much better. Also on the infinti forum people complained how the interior didnt hold up well after a year.
I would have been happy with either car.

Don't worry about it, I was just pointing it out... Forums with car enthusiasts like AZ pay attention to the details. No mark was deducted for your spelling, on the contrary you earned one in my book because I love your car.

No on the A4, I worked at a Porsche and Audi dealer and all i ever heard from the service tech's was how they wouldn't ever own one and that they were overpriced.
Not to mention replacement parts are ungodly expensive.
Only way to have one IMO is on a lease with a full warranty with loaner privileges.

^ Weird, the guy who installed most of my mods on the A4 was an audi service tech. He had an A4 and so did his wife.
Replacement parts are pretty cheap online btw. ecstuning.com sells most of it.
He did mention to stay away from the A8 though.
Of course the G37 will still be way more reliable.

Man I managed about 30 to 35 used A4's and A6's for our Audi Assured lease program and ill be damned if at any given time 10 to 15 of them weren't sitting behind the building waiting for service, I also got to handle tacking on the repair costs to the inventory lists, and dealer repairs were outrageous even at dealer cost. An Audi isnt the kind of car you can just take to your local car-x for repairs, and dealers usually don't let you bring parts you got off the internet for them to put on, if for some reason they do they wont warranty the work.
All things considered Audi = not for me

Yea i wasnt saying you were wrong. Just stating its good to know an audi tech that does work on the weekends in his garage.
I really dont know any dealer that does cheap work outside of warranty though.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
If you are leasing, the A4 is really a nice looking ride, or have you considered a A5? The G37 Coupe is nice as well......I really like both cars, but I think if prices are the same, or close, go Audi. Just my
