Anyone know where I can find a Subaru Forester STI
I have always wanted one. Lately I have seen two, one gray and one navy blue (beautiful!!!) around where I live. Seeing them kind of rekindle my love for Forester STI again. I know they don't sell it in states, just curious if anyone knows some way of getting one. I googled it, besides bunch of New Zealand/UK/Asia for sale websites, nothing in the states.
Thanks guys.

did they bring em into canada? if so, get in touch with jdmskyline.com shoot em an email and tell them what your looking for. there canadian, and speciliaze in importing cars from overseas. they have a lot of RHD stuff and can get there hands on pretty much anything. you just have to make it us spec safe (windshield, seatbelts, possibly airbag) and your good to go.

There is an Forester XTI concept vehicle, but I'm not sure of their future plans.

It would be easier to just take a Forester XT Sport and convert it. Bigger Turbo, intercooler, upgrade the brakes & suspension, and you're practically there.

Cheaper to just convert one

I have two converted to STi specs around my area. I love the way they look. I never thought I'd be drooling over a Forester, but they do look hawt lowered with STi wheels.

There was an article about an old couple who converted their forrester to an STi spec in one of the recent subuaru drive magazine. You could probably come close by doing the visual body effects, sti wheels, suspension parts, then upgrade some of the exhaust components and do a stage 2 tune on the stock engine. You would probably be pretty pleased with that.

This one was pretty close to what I saw, except much lower. Yeah, I figured the owner probably upgraded the US stock version. I guess that is probably the most cost-effective way. Thanks guys.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Why yes, yes I would.....
Those things are very expensive here. You're better off doing the conversion. If you tried to import it, Subaru would not give you a statement attesting that it is the same as a US model. So you would be screwed.

Burning Brakes
If you get the older, Impreza based Forester XT that is made in Japan (instead of the Indiana Legacy based like the current one) a conversion is surprisingly straightforward. Get an '04 or '05--the block is the STI block. The STi suspension is bolt on. The intercooler and tubro are bolton. The hard bit is the transmission and ECU. Go aftermarket for the ECU and find a wrecked STi to steal the six speed from.
Or just get a new TMIC, a bigger turbo, a custom tune and gears for the five speed for the motor for basically the same if not better results for less $$$$.
I'd post this question over on NASIOC.
