The only kits for v6 engines I can think of off the bat are:

1. Supra
2. Skyline (or skyline engines)
3. Nissan 300zx
4. G35 coupe

how did the V6 accord get screwed? It wouldn't be half so bad if manufacters made the manifold and all the rest of the piping. 4 bangers have so many kits it's sick but why shouldn't they make more for V6s given our engines should have more potential. I guess the manufacters are keeping in mind ricers with 4 bangers.

V6 accords got screwed because of the tranny, HKS made a prototype years ago though.

There are a lot more turbo kits for V6's then you mentioned

Also, the turbo kits can't go too high on the J series motor's because they'll blow. is it because of the compression ratio? short stroke length? what is it?

it would also help greatly if the j series motor was a DOHC.

Dodge stealth had a v6 turbo, not sure if there were any aftermarket turbo mods for it though.

I agree this was my greatest disapointment in our engine was SOHC. It would have made more sense it make it DOHC. I guess they wanted to keep it more luxury cruiser than race car.

I don't think there's as much of a market for a turbo in a V6 Accord (family sedan) than a 300Z (sports car) for instance. And since our FWD cars mostly have transverse mounted engines, it's tough to fit all the turbo parts in the engine compartment. just some thoughts...

I know of a few J series motors handling 6+ on stock motors fine, however they are all in sand rails. My buddy is diong a turbo J30A1 right now but is doing a fully built bottom end and says it'll handle 25+ PSI (again, in a sand rail) The weak link for us is the tranny, but in a sand rail they bolt up a VW trans w/ a adapter plate.

the supra (2jz) and skyline GT-R (rb26) were inline 6 and both those cars had models that came with turbos already, same goes with the 300zx, so its pretty easy to make kits for cars that already have models w/ turbos.

with the right amount of money any car can have a turbo..

If you think about it, who is going to buy a turbo for a V6 Accord? Or Altima? Or Camry? The answer is not many, less, and almost none.

I own a 6MT Accord, and it has more than ample power while maintaining good fuel efficiency (I'm getting better than the rated and I don't take it easy) and having a nice smooth sound without being intrusive. Why would you mess with that?

If you think some more, only 1/100 Accord coupes are the 6MT version, and probably less than 15% of Accords are coupes. With that small margin, that doesn't leave a lot of room for a market for upping performance.

There are performance cars for people who are focused on that. IMO V6's are better mated to a supercharger than a turbo anyways.
