Wow, so jealous of how clean that is. Having a company car, I really don't care if the car is dirty and just run it through swirl inducing car washes but damn, I miss the clean look and smooth finish.

Dash piece is classy looking!

Totally understand. I get moments where I don't want to bother cleaning any of the vehicles. Soon after I detail them, see that shine in the sun, all that "Ugh F-this" goes out the window and turns into "This is FRESH". Just don't be obsessed like myself.

Update.

Last weekend I took the time to swap out the winter setup for the summer setup. Applied another coat of silver paint on her calipers, and cleaned up the TL brakes really well. This morning I use applied a coat of collinite 845 wax on the wifey's car and used griots spray wax on my car. This is the worse season for anyone with OCD.

The pollen is horrific. By the time I got done doing her car, it was already turning green.. I installed the Wood accessory trim on the dashboard. Made quite the difference and matches 100% to the OEM wood kit. Snapped a few pictures of my Acura, then put it back under the cover.

Oh hey SC, looking good!

That dash is the perfect compliment to the existing, now time to fill all those blank switches (what is supposed to be there)?

I know they moved the heated steering wheel switch from the steering colum covers to one of those slots. I had to Google what those slots are filled with. Came across a picture of what a Kia Optima 1.7 VGT Platinum will come with. Those are the only ones that also come with a manual transmission, but sold in USA.

And this is for a USA SX-L model

The Kia looks good, but your TL just looks a lot better. Ever tried swapping those 20s on to your TL?

Thank you! I haven't put them on the TL. The wife insist we swap wheels for a day except the Work VS-XX are much more aggressive than her's. It will end up sticking out past the fenders on her car and by a decent amount. There was a member here who did have the same wheels on his 3rd gen TL. I googled around and found a few

Thank you buddy! My TL is treated like a classic now. Not too many 2004's still in great shape. I'm still under 100K on that car.

Thanks!

At the time we purchased this vehicle a standard SX with no pano roof, no navi and no trim packages was about 4,800 more. To get what she really wanted we would have paid out nearly 9K more.

She bought this car for 21K with 5000 miles. It offered the Pano roof, heated/cooled seats up front, heated rear seats and the heated steering wheel. She really wanted the Red or the blue color. We searched all over for a low mileage, well priced one, and found this one about 2 hours away from our location.

The UNAVI X5 system is much better than the standard navi these cars come with. A lot of those Optima forum guys complain about the lack of options and not enough sound from the navi/infiniti sound system. Regardless, it's been a solid car, and if wifey is happy then I'm happy and to me that's all that matters.

A nicely modded 3G looks better than stock 4G and stock TLX... but nicely mod either of the other two and they will look better than the stock version of the others...

This isn't rocket science.

edit: OP your Kia looks amazing. really nice clean touches you've done to it.

Thank you. To be honest with you, she doesn't get much respect on the optima forum because 90% of them are modified the same way you see in this meet.

I browse through the optima forums, especially the member of the month contenders, and realized the more tacky shit the better the chances. Most of them don't like the clean, well done look. To be honest, this is now the norm for the 3rd gen TL. As much as I hate what has become to this generation of "modders" but this is what's cool now.

Heading to SC, Myrtle Beach in the next two days. I wanted to take the TL but wife doesn't drive a manual. We got the Optima ready for the trip. Waxed, full tank of 93 Shell V-power and a system fuel cleaner. We should get about 30-32 MPG all the way there. The trip will take about 11-13 hours give or take traffic and stops. We did the trip 2 years ago with the Optima and fit both of our road bikes in the truck with luggage. This year we are doing the same thing. The trunk is pretty spacious, kuddos to KIA for that. Hopefully we can meet up with CLtoTL32 while there.

We had a great time in Myrtle Beach. We left NJ early morning with the car loaded and the temps outside had stayed roughly 95-97 all the way down to South Carolina. 11 hours to get there and we filled up twice on the way down. Thank god Shell is located on every stop. The Optima got some love in the south! Took another drive over to see my best buddy Tyler (CLtoTheTL32) and his lovely wife. We got the best gas mileage from SC to NC . Heading back to NJ, terrible accident on the Turnpike which was shut down north and south bound from exit 11-14. Took us 4 hours from the accident to get home. Luckily, I had enough gas to get me to the nearest station. The Optima is all cleaned up again but next time around either renting a car or flying.

Heading down to SC. This was taken when we got out of NJ

Do you think painted the chrome outline on the front grille black will look better?

It happened when the car was going on an incline. The RPM's kicked up at that moment.

I thought about it, but there's a chrome strip that runs above the windows extending to the back glass. If I black out the grill, I would black out those chrome strips as well.

BMW calls them shadow line trim

unless you like chrome, painting them black will add some sporty look to it.

I personally dislike chrome anything.

I agree. The TL has them in black from factory and it looks great. If someone made these in real carbon fiber, including that grill in carbon, I'd be all over it.

You got that right. All the CF accessories done on this car, are real CF. Pissed the front have a very small chip in it. I did my best to protect the front end with painters tape. It wasn't enough
