Airbag light flashing in Infiniti I30/Maxima

Hey, does anyone know what this means? It's a 1998 and it should be the same thing as the Maxima of the same year or earlier. I was looking around and someone mentioned the alternator...

I don't think an alternator would trip an airbag light.

I hate to say this once again, but...

It's probably the airbag module malfunctioning. You dont want to have an airbag come out on your accidentally. Get it checked asap!

my friend has a maxima, and had this prob for like the last 3-4 years. he put a sticker over it to block it

this started happening on my parents 2000 infinity I30

I think its a common problem, and after googling, i found out it costs about 500 bucks to fix.

Since its an airbag, you may be able to get Infiniti to fix it on a goodwill basis.

wow i hate to say this too but why don't you

before parading around with that pompous attitude. i did in fact read the manual and with my 1st gen CL, the alternator going dead caused the SRS light to come on. and thanks to njzprettyboy and skgarach for some real help!
