That was a great little car. My girlfriend's cousin had one, I got to drive it all the time, when we were partying.

Burgess Meredith FTW

But I like the 1G BodyStyle better.

Now that's old school. That 1st gen lude is as old or older than me.

I wouldn't say that I "miss it", I bought it with close to 100,000 miles on it, so it wasn't exactly in it's prime. But it was a great little car for it's time.

I had the opportunity to buy a T-Type from an old family friend. The car was mint and was two tone silver/black. He wanted 12000 which i didnt have. A cousin of mine scooped it up and it's been in storage ever since. Thankfully the storage is climate controlled, but it never gets driven

Separated by one year (97-01 vs 98-02) but, yes. And it was not a homologated replacement. Rather it was effectively a replacement by default.

The best part of that commercial is the 1/4 mile segment, where the Lude just drives by the camera...I mean you can show the breaking...you can show the cornering...its hard to show the 1/4 mile though...and i think its funny how it just drives by with some cones on the track

Up until the very end, the Pontiac Firebird had popups.

Too funny - bragging about a 1/4 time of 16.68. And did anyone notice the announcer's voice was Burgess Meredith? He's the guy who played Mickey in the old Rocky films - and also played the penguin in the old 1960's Batman series.

Unfortunately he died in 1997. He was a really good actor.

I had a '91 that I just loved. Had some good high speed runs in it: 130 across Utah down to Arches Natn'l Park; cruise @ 110 thru Wyoming on my way home from first year law school; lots of fun!

The accord coupe and prelude were on the honda lineup together for a lot longer than that. Honda has always had an accord coupe/hatch. There were hond accord hatches in the 80's and coupes in the 90's. It was the popularity and high sales of the 98 Accord Coupe that finally dethroned the Prelude in sales and forced honda to stop making it. I'd take a Prelude anyday over an accord coupe of that era though.
