The ACCORD name has a strong enough brand that Acura TSX may not be enough to sway people now that I think about it. If you consider it a luxury car, it basically only has the Benz hatchback as competition. Any other sub 30k "luxury" cars (this is an oxymoron).

They should have made it the Accord sedan instead of the weird looking one we got (though I like it).

Quite franky, this TSX reminds me of the old Infiniti G20, a nice car but NOT DESERVING of a luxury car badge.

Put down your crack pipe.

This car has everything the g20 NEVER had. I have NO idea how you can ever compare the two. How exactly is it not deserving of the luxury badge? It has dual climate zone, voice command navigation, engine w/ the latest technology, side curtain airbags.....

l
Both are forgettable 25k "luxury"(I use the term loosely) cars.
I like the Element, ya'll got info on that????

Im sorry but that car with the V6 3.0 240-250 HP just to be ahead of Honda would outsell the Accord and give the current TL a run for its money. The car is hot the interior is hot and for the life of me I don't understand why did they but a 4 banger. I know it has IVtec and shit but 166 lbs of Torque at like 4500 rpm and 200hp. at 6900 rpm from a 2.4 does not look good. I mean its good because it is 200 hp from a 2.4 but with Altima with 3.5 with good torque u can't compete. Acura is doing like they did with 1gen CL with the 2.2 WHY????

The car does not look boring in person. I SAW ONE! Harrod's has a euro accord on display. It looks hot! BTW, I agree that this car doesn't really have a niche, but stop the Accord comparos. The TSX replaces the Integra, WHICH SOLD, so who the hell cares?

Hmmm, seems the younger kids on other boards likes it. THey maybe the only ones though that know it's the Euro Accord with mod potential. They don't have$$$$ for a 30k car, so theirparents can buy this one.

Oh, come on now...this thread is getting a little too heated. I guess what I can say is, if you don't like it, ignore it. Those who do like it can rejoice and enjoy it. Ok?

My how we all value different opinions--But as long as we are at it (hehe) If it is ADDITION to the Acyra "family" it is a great addition....But if it is REPLACING anything (CL), I am disappointed w/ the performance and the look...

Strongly agree... That is the only reason TSX gets 8 speakers... probably all of them are located on front firewall to block the I4 reving noise... hahahaha.... (just kidding)

TSX is a good car, but I do not think it is targeted at people over 25. :P

Engine noise can easily be filtered out. Wait and see for the cabin noise. Although i think you are completely wrong, because you think somehow this car will be the S2000 with 4doors and it just will not be the case. Additionally, the chasis is for the EuroAccrod. Those things would indicate the noise from the engine will be managed well.

shit

this engine has a 3 rocker vtec system, is i-vtec and 2.4 L of displacement...u know what that means? it means that if u slap a turbo on this bitch, u will bust alot of balls on the streets and at the track....i know almost everyone who buys a car does not mod it for the performance aspect...but i'm not one of them...the tsx would make an excellent 2nd car for me and since it and the rsx share the same engine block, don't be suprised 2 see 350whp turboed tsx's shortly

oh Christ, get off your high-horse.

the car is going to be marketed to a younger crowd, that does not want to spend 32k on an auto TL-S.

it will be a popular car in the same niche as the Mazda 6.. whatever category that may be.

it's another sporty sedan that comes with a decent engine and tranny. the features are much more than you expect to get for the price, so it makes it a good value in the eyes of the buyers.

personally, it looks hot, and it's good to see the euro accord come over in some form.

note: the euro accord is much different than the usdm accord.

I don't believe that. This sight claims 220hp...when everything else I've seen says 200hp. Speculation sucks.

Agreed, that's a pretty damn nice car. It's the best looking new 4-door I've seen in a while. Inside you get that big screen too, looks pretty functional (good for casually impressing people who think they're getting into a re-badged Accord). Not bad at all for the price.

Fixed.

The 200hp figure was revealed today.

As far as I know speculation still says 220-240 for a Type-S?

This is the non TypeS version you are looking at. The TypeS version will be released later on in 2003. No need to worry.

No, get off your low horse. So many Acura owners complain about respect blah blah blah well, this car hurts the momentum that Acura built with the Type-S Tl/CL, CL-S -6 and MDX. Downmarket again.

For instance, the IS 200 could have been shipped straight over to the US back in 1998 (200hp, 6-speed) but Lexus STUDIES the AMERICAN market and waited until a 6-cylinder install thus the IS 300 thus going head to head with the 3. Ya'll joke the IS as a civic already, imagine if it was a 4-cylinder??????

How can you have not one but 2 Accords rebadged in your line-u???? This proves Acura would rather go in untapped niches and not go head to head with the competittion. Which is fine, until the owners start to biatch.

So would ya'll pick the TSX over.

The Suburu WRX
The Accord V-6
The Altima V-6
The Maxima
The Camry V-6
THe A4-1.8t
VolvoS40
Mitsu Galant
Neon SRT
G35
Mazda 6
C-class hatch
Jetta
Hynadai XG350

Damn, never mind. This car will sell to women like hotcakes. I guess naming the competition made me realize it will actually sell pretty well.

1sick is right. the car will dilute the brand image. no question.

but... it WILL SELL LIKE CRAAZZY.

at the very least i hope they offer a V6 Type-S version or trim.

then it can just duplicate what audi does with the A4.
