Acura Tires
I have acura tsx 2006 car. I have only 8,000 miles. One of my back tire got cut, I don't know how. It seems like I need to replace the tire.
Do anyone have any suggestion that IF I should go with new tires or used ones. I am concerned that if I have new it will not be the same as other three tires and I am not sure if there will be any problem.
I am also looking at dunlop, good year or michlen.
Please advice
Thanks
Jijo

When my first OEM died, I got a used one from someone here in the black market. It had similiar mileage, 12K vs. 16K, so it was close enough for me, and it was cheap.
Like Kris mentioned, with only 8K miles on the car, getting a NEW replacement oem tire probably isn't a bad idea too.
If you do either of the above, then the tires will match close enough. You never want to mix brands or sizes on the same axle (front or rear).
I ended up killing 3 OEM tires in total on my car due to hitting potholes (bubble and blowout) and clipping a curb. I really don't like OEM michelins, so after I replace the 1st one with a use OEM, I got a pair of yokohama V4S when the 2nd one blew out. I kept the good oem as a spare, and used that when the 3rd oem died... THis was all in about the first 25K miles of ownership (bought the car new), so the OEM tires suck... and I guess I'm kinda hard on tires too...
I'd either buy a new or used OEM replacement and see how it goes from there...

^^Im actually interested in purchasing the Yokohamas. I bought a set of Michelin's 2yrs ago for my TL. I actually like them but they're too expensive and the yoko's are cheaper, even though Im told Michelin makes them. What kind of weather do you normally drive through, and how would you rate their comfort?

I use my CL as a daily so it sees all kinds of weather up here in the Northeast. I liked the V4S better than the Yoko A430's I'm running now. The V4S seem better in the snow and rain, but I was only running 2 of those with 2 oems. The OEM Michelins last longer, and being harder, don't stick as well as the yoko's, but the Michelins cost alot more.
I might go back the the V4S next time around... The reason I went with the A430's this time was because the tire shop guy talked me into them...
I like the fact that the Yoko's came in a stock size, and had the proper load rating...

I don't understand some people...They spend all this money to get a nice car, and then they are too cheap to buy a new tire? WTF?? Do you think the tires last forever? My wife's BMW, we had two flats (pierced the sidewall and could not be repaired) that needed the tires replaced twice in 2 years, she has all of 13,000 miles on the car, it's definately a pisser, but safety is my #1 priority, so I replaced them with a new, matching tire to all of the others...

my 2G Tl's Michelin worked fine with me for some reason ... around 7 years ?
So don't know what the deal is here ... maybe it has something to do with the harsh weather or road conditions ...
