Post 92 Acura Legend - Speedo problem

I have a 92 Acura Legend LS and just recently the speedometer needle will start jumping and sometimes will go to zero. When this happens, the D4 lite will continually blink and the odometer of course will stop registering mileage. Any ideas what may be the problem. Sometimes but not often the check engine lite will come on. Could it be a faulty vehicle speed sensor? Please help.

Most likely it is the vehicle speed sensor. Seen this issue before on older Legends. Good luck!
