750 has a check engine light...

(Which will be an easy $50 fix)

But in the meantime I decided I needed a truck and bought a 2017 limited tundra with trd package. I initially was looking for a trd pro but everyone wanted 5-15k over sticker. Figured I'd rather get $4k off of a limited and just do an aftermarket lift.

Needed something to fit 3 kids seats. Had it down to a f02 750li, f-150, or tundra.

Pick it up tomorrow but this is basically if.

I can't believe I just bought a truck...750 has a check engine light...-photo134.jpg

Just snag a TRD Pro grille and you'll be good to go!

That is a great truck! What made you go with the Tundra over the F150?

Congrats on the truck. Sounds like you don't need a garage reno but rather a larger garage. If I calculate right you have 5 cars?

Seriously, the BMW will get sold in the next 1-2 weeks (once I fix the check engine light). Contractor shows up today for the garage

A 3 car garage was a hard requirement for us when house shopping, but I gave it up when we found a house on a private drive.

Will be on the list for this week, as well as body colored door handles, and mirrors (and eventually get rid of the chrome on the front bumper

Mostly impulse. My brother just picked up a new F-150 and that's what got me thinking truck in the first place. But similiar optioned F150 was about $10K more, and at that point, I just couldn't justify it. Plus, resale on the tundras is strong. But I really liked both.

Can the contractor expand it to add a third bay? Sucks the 750 is leaving.

Awesome! I love my Tundra (TRD Rock Warrior Edition). Thing drives, tow, and pretty much does everything like a champ...

My brother in law and his buddy run a construction business and they have 2 tundras that they use daily and they absolutely love them. One of them have has something like 240K miles and still purrs like a kitten and hauls like crazy.

Nah, not now. I've got room on the side of the house to add more space but have a neighbor property line dispute going on (should be resolved shortly)

750 isnt' a big deal. Thing has 120K miles on it, and is slowly hitting it's death bead. Suspension is shot....everything else is pretty stout. What's crazy is these things aren't worth shit. I think i'd get $2K max on a trade in, maybe $5K on a private sale. It's a 2008 that had a 92K sticker on it

you done anything to it? Debating between bilsteins 6112's and 5160's in the rear or ADS coilovers.

Just upgraded the brakes to slotted/cross-drilled since I tow with this. Also did the level kit. If I didn't tow so much with it I would have done a lift and did think about the Bilsteins... but just decided to keep the geometry as close to stock as possible as to not affect towing... so did the level kit only...

I have some cosmetic stuff waiting in the garage for me to install (side step bars, bull bar, tonneau cover), but other than that... not much else planned.

Sad part is you would probably pay more for a Honda Civic then you would for your 750 - extremely crazy how much they depreciate in value.

which side steps? Which Tonneau? I think i'm gonna do the bakflip mx4, i like that you can close and open the tailgate without touching the cover. My brother did that on his F150 and i liked it a lot.

Step bars i need, but the amount of options has turned me away from looking so far, lol.

Tonneau I did the Extang Trifecta. I needed a good cover that could easily be removed since I use the bed a lot. This cover is great and super easy to take on and off if needed.

I actually got the side-steps off of eBay. I'll have to check my history but I think I bought them too long ago for it to show. They are this style though:

OUCH! That seriously hurts...

Congrats on the new truck! The depreciation on it will probably be a LOT better than the 7er.

resale on the tundra is ultimately what did it for me. Seeing 2014/15's around for only 5-10K cheaper then I bought my truck new was a big eye opener.

Not really sure how the 7's have such a hit, fucking 3 series are worth more!

That doesn't sound fun. Will you eventually add an additional bay to the garage once that is resolved?

The Bangle 7's are worth next to nothing due to no one really liking the design and the incredibly questionable reliability.

Shit, I bet an E38 7 from the late 90's would be worth more...

See incredibly questionable reliability...

The 6 is based off the 5 so that would make sense that people are more ok with the reliability aspect...though both of those are also less than ideal.

Congrats on the Tundra. Love my F150, would've been a toss-up between the Tundra & Silverado for the #2 spot.

As far as bedcovers, mine will eventually wear a Bak MX4.

ordered lift kit today Bilstein 6112's with 5160's in the back. Will give me 0-3" in the front (will go 2.5") and no lift in the rear. Will level the truck out with a slight cali lean (reverse rake)

Nice wheels, I'm just not a fan of the (fake or not) rivets/bolts all over the outer rim. Something like those minus the bolts would be perfect.
