i'd be interested to see how much you spent on maintenance over the 500k miles... i think Tyson kept an excel spreadsheet... do you have something similar???

If you addressed this, my apologies, but I wonder about the health of the engine. For example, have you done a compression test, or does it burn oil? This is just a matter of curiosity for me, because I believe that that car served you well, and you got full value +, when you look at how much you paid, and how much you drove the car.

So, another thing that I was thinking, do you think it will run, for, let's say, 100k miles more?

It's good to know that Honda makes (some) engines that will go 1/2 million miles +. Now, you got me wondering if anybody's ever gotten 1/2 a million miles out of a V6?

Good threads, Clymerdude! I enjoy reading about longevity in a product that I, too, own.

Now, let's see another 1/2 million!

We have a member here with 600k on a 2G TL, though I don't think that was all on 1 engine...Not sure how much was on which.

Kind of. I dont have a spreadsheet, but about a year ago I was asked something similar & added stuff up over the years. It also includes some things I had to replace due to collision accident, so take it with a grain of salt. (scroll down to the Mclaren, if you want to get right to it)

Another excellent question! I was actually thinking about that today while driving around. Having a compression test done & a Dyno for HP. I may pull the trigger because i'm also curious. I'll make some calls and see what I can schedule... I'll do a blog post with the results when I get them done.

About the Dyno and Compression test, from my experiences, Honda engines tent to stay very strong with age and milage and I'm convinced they make the best engines out there, I think you will be happy with the results, do it!!!

I kept it short this time!!!

Nice, video and I agree with you wanting to spend more time with your son and family versus driving.
So if you don't get to 1,000,000 no worries, spending time with your family is the important thing in life

Sorry for just now seeing this Josh. I've already commented on your blog, on the YouTube video, and texted you every day.... but, let's make it AcuraZine Official: CONGRATS!

Really glad I could be there for the occasion when this happened. For any who hadn't seen my write-up & video, it's in here:

https://drivetofive.wordpress.com/20...x-achievement/

Now, it's time to get the Half-Million-Milers again for another photoshoot like the one at Snow Canyon State Park back in February...

Not sure on the V6 side but there was a 1990 accord that hit 1 million miles and an Insight that was over 900,000 the last I checked. Honda used to maintain a "mile makers" website for people who logged 100k plus, it seems they don't maintain it anymore.

I was shooting for a quarter million miles on my rig, I made it and am at 281 now. 500k is a goal now but at 12-15k a year it's a long way off still.

IRT DVD issue, it's probably the drive going out. It's quite common in the 3G TL.

Slow & steady wins the race! But I know what you mean. It's how I feel when I think about going for a million miles...

Thanks, & I'm afraid your correct. I have already reman'd the NAV unit once for $300+. I think I'll just stick with the phone using google maps. I already bough a nifty $10 phone holder that has a suction cup that adheres nicely to the NAV screen. haha

Clymerdude - I merged your last two topics into this one. You should really keep it all together since it's one story and by breaking it up... it's tough for others to follow. Keep this thread as a master thread. Not only will it be easier for others to follow along, but by keeping the info all in one place it makes for better search results. Plus, it also makes it cleaner for you and you can keep track of everything in one topic.

But would it also me since to somehow merge the titles too, that way people who were looking for the second thread will also know where to find it again, and so the conversation flows a little better...

The forum automatically redirects so his original topic titles are still on the main forum list and clicking them brings you to the merged topic.

Thanks for sharing the write up, Clymerdude!

Now, can you disassemble the transmission and see what condition it's in?

lol, just kidding! Anyway, sounds like you're good for another 500k, considering the health of the engine.
