5 Least Reliable Luxury Cars...
Forbes has created a list of what it calls the least reliable luxury cars of 2006. The five models have the lowest-possible scores for predicted reliability from Consumer Reports:
1- Land Rover LR3
2- Land Rover Range Rover
3- Lincoln Navigator
4- Saab 9-3
5- Volkswagen Touareg

Conversely, these 5 luxury cars should head the 'you do NOT get what you pay' for list.

Surprised...I was expecting the list to be only the Germans.
Can't believe the Saab is that bad.

"Land Rover considers quality products of paramount importance and is continuously working towards achieving total customer satisfaction," a Land Rover spokesman said, adding that this year's survey showed a slight improvement for its cars. The company is investing heavily in manufacturing and engineering, and is expecting to see an "upward trend" in quality as a result.

Another reason why I don't believe in car commercials. Those LR3 commercials where he says I took mine, I took mine, you could imagine that you put a lot of miles in that LR3 and has no problems, well that's just BS.
That's weird that out of the 5 cars there, almost all are Made in Germany, with the exception of the Saab and the Navigator. I always had this perception that cars built in Germany are of high reliablity and durability. Well, that's terrible.

I'm actually shocked the Navigator is on there, we are on our 2nd and our first one didn't have a single problem (one of the few cars we've owned to never go in for something serious), the new one has been the same, hasn't been back to the dealer since we bought it.

Yah - my best friend has an '04 9-3 Vector, and yep it's that bad. The irony is that he owned a Disco before that.

I think BMW was up there a cuople years back for the 7-series but has worked out all the bugs since also.
So that leaves the "regulars"...surprised only 1 VW is on there...but do they consider jettas and passats "Luxury" cars?

thought for sure there'd be a E class Mercedes on the list. The electrical systems on those things are horrid.

Are they the most reliable? No, are they the least reliable? No.
I'm surprised the Range Rover is up there, the 03+ is a great vehicle by most accounts. My oldman has an 04 and its been flawless.
The other Land Rovers on the other hand.

Some dude
And people still buy range rovers. It really shows how little people know or care about automotive quality. My friend just traded his range rover in for two cars + cash.

They are fine cars, just very unreliable.
All I remember is one slaab I leased to someone, after 3 months, it was a lemon and slaab took it back and got him another one. 3 months later, that, too, was a lemon. He got out of slaab's completely and got a TSX, couldn't be happier.

The thing with Land Rovers is that its always annoying shit that breaks. The actual cars last forever, my roommate has 150k miles on both of the discoveries in his family and they are still a blast to drive.
