Updates:
I don't have pictures of the shifter mount, but it was raised about 4"-5" and can be unbolted from the car to drop it back to stock position. (everything on this car will be made to be removable and easily accessible.
Finally the 2 wiring harnesses have been combine, shortened, lengthened, and loomed together. Unnecessary connectors were also removed, so the harness looks factory as it should.

Nice work. One thing I really loathe doing and therefore haven't done before is wiring.
Shifter closer to the steering wheel is always better on a track car!

Thank you!
I've done some wiring, but this was way too advanced for me. Even reading the wiring diagrams was a little confusing. Luckily, the homie is well experienced in this part. (thank god he is an amazing mechanic)
Shifter looks awesome! I accidentally deleted the picture thinking I uploaded it already
Thank you sir!
Not sure if anyone caught it, but the cluster is from a Suzuki Katana

What's crazy is that my friend is literally doing EVERYTHING. I do minor help here and there. I love the fact that he was able to combine both harnesses to make one. I also can't wait to see it installed. The wires last week made the engine bay look really messy.

I obviously need to stop in to Car Talk more often than I've been lately. I love offbeat builds like this.
I'll be coming back for more updates. This is unspeakably awesome.

Pretty much got everything mocked up. Motor mount has been reinforced (forgot to take a picture). Radiator is pretty much ready, just need one hose to complete it and get a new overflow tank. Oil cooler location has been established (the blue thing). Location of the battery has also been established, just need the tray and install. Need to find a spot for the clutch master cylinder, because the swift never had one. Gonna plug up a few vacuum lines, throw on a filter for the crankcase vent, another filter for the Idle air control. Once all the hoses are connected the harness is going back in. My friend will also be making a rear torque mount, so engine movement should be very minimal. Lastly, my friend will be making the exhaust.
All around, the engine bay is going to be really clean and easy to work on. If the motor and trans has to come out, we can easily drop it since it doesn't have a sub frame.
Hopefully we'll have it on the road by next week or the week after.

Updates:
-Hydraulic clutch installed and working
-Custom battery tray made and installed with custom tie down made
-Exhaust piping started
-Wiring harness is back in
-Rear torque mount fabricated and installed
Although we foresaw the finishing of this car some time last year, but there was a lot of set backs(like all projects). This car is finally coming to a finish and we can't wait to have it on the road. The motor has minimal movement now that the rear torque mount is installed.

Wtf? Welding without a mask? No wonder the welds look like I did it as long as there are no leaks and it holds up for track duty!
Can't wait to see it finished
