4AGE 20V Blacktop Suzuki Swift #Sleeper

As title states and currently in the works is my 2001 Suzuki Swift with a 4age swap. The homie lost interest in doing the swap, so I bought it and having him finish it haha. The point of the car is to be as light as possible remaining NA and being a track monster.
Pictures posted:

2001 Suzuki Swift. Bumper and bumper cover are in the car
JNC wheels
205/50/R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE11
New aluminum radiator- We will be running waterless coolant
S13 J2 32 way dampening coilovers custom fitted- Rear used to have a shock and spring setup, which we can go back to, but why? This thing is stiff on the low settings.
Stock motor. No mods for it.... for now. I will get trumpets, no doubt. Will be eliminating powersteering from the motor. Car doesn't come with it stock anyway.

By far, my most favorite tires. Those things STICK like crazy to the road. It's actually a challenge to get them to break traction... generally at ludicrous cornering speeds

I'm kind of surprised on the engine choice also.. figured there are much better options, but OP might have a trick up his sleeve we don't yet know about. I do like the individual throttle bodies on the engine though!

I love swaps like this.

Totally unorthodox and thinking outside of the box. I like it!

Excited to see the build progress!

At the recent LeMons races here there was a Swift with a turbo 6 inverted and installed in the back. Thing was quick as hell!

Good luck... looking forward to seeing progress pics

sweet!!! I love seeing these kinds of builds, stuffing decent engine into a totally weird car and just ripping the piss out of it. Real cool

And the AE86 generation Corollas, but they were all 16v in the US; IIRC the 20v motors were Japan only.

Car was a ton of fun, curious to see the progress on this. I'd love to do an AE86 with a silvertop.

This one's not actually that odd. The Swift is the honda civic around the world. These things are used all over for swaps and are great performers.

Weighs a bit under 1,900 lbs, but we will be taking as much as we can off and cutting dead weight. I was told the old suspension weighed a lot, especially compared to the s13 coilovers.

There's nothing up my sleeve lol.
This is a budget swap, with a badass motor that came stock ITB.

Don't want to make it too obvious as to what's under the hood/

Yeah, there are some crazy swaps done to this car, but this won't be THAT crazy. Should be pretty quick though.

Yes, Japan only. This is also the FWD version. So it doesn't require THAT MUCH moding done to it.

Is there any big difference between FF & MR setup, both being transverse, with these engines vs the FR?

Removed the old Swift motor and trans and test fitted the 4age.
It's a great fit and has room for trumpets in the rear, which I am excited about.
Removed power steering and AC. Car will also have a lightweight crank pulley with half of it sawed off.... so it will be REALLY light, because it doesn't need the other accessory belt for PS and AC.
Also chopped off that flimsy support. I have a video, but taking forever to be uploaded on photobucket.

Sweet. I love swaps like this. Cant wait to see the progress/finished product. Should be a fun car when done.

I always wanted to do something similar, i wanted to take a Geo Metro and drop in a B18 and make it a weekend track car. LIght, nimble and very quick.

This thing would have a Honda heart, but Honda motors+trans are much more expensive. Either way, ITB from factory is so badass! One of the biggest reasons why I chose to purchase everything from my friend.

I would like to, but this is gonna be sort of a daily LMAO. Gonna strip out whatever I can, like everything behind the front seats. glove box, headliner cuz that shit falling, probably the pillars as well.

If anyone is in the 909 area and wants to practice their painting skills, HMU

Yes sir!
Toyota AE111 heart
S13 suspension
300zx stopping power

The same day we pulled the shitty 1.3 out, I was able to find a buyer for that motor and trans lol.
Engine can now sit in the bay without a jack or jackstands!!!! It was only supposed to take a couple hours, but took the whole day haha. This thing will be VERY EASY to service.
Now, all the measuring and tedious work begins.
Pictures include the sawed off light weight crank pulley, modified motor mounts, and good stuff.
Next week we should be test starting it before doing all the measuring.

Someone that understands the point of being different! lol. Yes, I am super excited to have this thing scream with the trumpets, exhaust will also be custom made by my friend. He's literally doing everything to this car mechanically and all the wiring.

Well, we still have a bit to go. A majority of work will be done every Monday. Every other day little things will be done here and there. Things at this point have to be measured, then it'll be pulled out again. Parts will be painted and we will clean everything up a bit.

lol, won't be needing a headliner anytime soon, maybe get my dash redone to be black. I'll probably do that after seats and a harness tho. And thank you sir

Update:
Didn't start it, but it will for sure be started next week. Gutted a majority of the interior, and will remove sound deadening later. Cluster is ripped out and ready to be modified, took out the airbags, and kept the passenger cover to have the car still looking nice up front. I can already tell it'll be a fun grocery getter. Also picked up a quick release from my friend and a used momo 320mm steering wheel in REALLY good condition, just waiting on my momo hub adapter. Car also doesn't smell like ass anymore.

Finally got the car started!
All down hill from here. My boy was able to eliminate what wasn't needed off the harnesses, got the shifter to work, shortened and lengthened every single wire. All the plugs and wiring has been figured out. Everything at this point will be mechanical, cutting, and welding things.
