Just giving you a hard time. I know you know your stuff, too bad you don't post more pictures. I'd enjoy seeing them.

Thanks man, I just haven't had any time to shoot lately. That and I donated my camera to my wife's little cousin (she's 13) as she was interested in learning and I wouldn't get more than $125 for my high mileage 40D anyway.

When I get a new body, I'll get back at it. Want to start shooting cars as a hobby now.

No problem, always glad to help out.

You'll have to experiment a bit with the CPL but I don't think you'll have to change exposure. Because the filter is in front of the lens, the camera's metering would account for any change in light.

The CPL looks dark but doesn't actually change the exposure. What you're seeing is the light being polarized.

If you want more control, go with a linear polarizer but it's a huge PITA to use unless you're shooting a static scene with a tripod.

You just shoot like normal. All you have to do is "twist" the filter until you see the reflections disappear from the surface/windows. I made a little .gif a while back showing the differences:

^ Yep, this helps with keeping some of the glare there to give some depth while getting rid of all the other crap you don't want to see.

Finished another C5 Z06 this week. This day was glorious with thick cloud all around us. About 5500 ft above.

I always wanted to do this to my vehicles, but then I got a beige interior car and now it doesn't seem like it would go together

Yeah! It looks like a race car or track car with those panels added in. Really cool. Getting a lot of interests from Corvette pages.

that taupe would be closest to OEM colors inside, but it would get so dirty so fast that it wouldn't be worth the hassle really

Great photography skills! And congrats on getting them features on the FB page.

I love those TWSs on the Vette. I just wish they came in my bolt pattern.

It's just like the OEM products. It will get dirty if you never clean your car. Nothing more, nothing less. That's what I always tell people.

I personally had my panels for almost 2 years. The front panels and a pillars were never cleaned, it still looks new.

Thank you!! Yeah, those TWSs are sexy in person too. Looks clean and sporty at the same time.

Beige just gets dirty faster, or you can notice it more. But I still wanna do the headliner and probably with black since mine got dirty from transporting some stuff a while ago and I can't clean it so I will match the pillars too.

Do you put suede over top of OEM cloth or take that off?

You are MOST DEFINITELY getting better at this. Looking at background is key but one thing I did notice that your style is deviating for those vette pics. I loved your pseudo low key style, it looked kick ass. Definitely go back to that.

That really depends on which panel we work on.

Thanks!!!!

I think the weather might have thrown off my usual style. It was so dark and wet. Most of the times, I always shot stuff during the golden hour when the sky was clear. Maybe that's why?

Or I found out what clarity is recently. Am I overusing it? haha

Oh you're deviating from your style...with my keen eye i'm telling you you should do this or that. It's fucking art. Do you know how condescending that sounds, even if you hide behind "i'm trying to help you get better"...? Because what, you're an art professor? Obama said your pictures are the standard for what's perfect?

Post some of your pictures so we can also post our opinions on how awesome or not awesome you are with your composition and lighting and post processing.

That said...that rear bumper and hood and wheels on that vette made my pants short! love love love it!

Clarity will boost contrast and brightness at the same time. It's easy to over use (I'm guilty of it too) because it adds a lot of pop to the image.

I laughed at #interiormatters.

But that's a good tagline. It makes you think.

And I like how that photo is underexposed. It makes the text and sunset/rise pop.
