What's everyone think of this car? I think it looks pretty good, and even the inside looks ok. I generally don't like retro looks (I would of bought a 2005 Mustang if it wasn't for its ugly interior) but I think that Chevy actually made the interior of the new Camaro nice, even if it is retro.
I don't want to give up my TL but if I am in a financial position to own two cars when this comes out, I might consider getting one, the SS version with the 6.2 LS3. I never had a car with a V8 before.

From what i have read even of the preproduction mules they say its a very capable car (they compared it to being like a G37) Id say it will be a great car

I feel the need...
I agree with synth, the look is pretty generic, but the underpinnings and the price compared to the other muscle cars *Mustang/Charger look pretty compelling IMO.
Seems to me that a two door G8 would be fairly redundant at this point. Why not put the DI6 in G8 base?

I don't think so, although American cars in general depreciate worse than imports, it's not true about muscle cars. Look at used Mustang GT's and Camaro SS's and Corvettes, they hold their value better than most imports.

Torque is addicting.... but yeah I'd get a used one too, but I'm the kinda guy who'll buy used anyway. Depreciation sucks overall for almost any car, aside from certain cars (like VW R32s) that you can't really guess until they've been on the market for a while. The main thing is that these kinds of cars are pretty cheap to begin with. And when it goes to beyond the $30k range, you can even find a 1-2 year old low mileage S2000 for 6-8k less than it was new.

not bad... a little late in the game for GM but I like the Dodge Challenger better

I think this retro thing is being over done now, while it doesn't look bad, it doesn't look like a Camaro to me. I do like what they did with the gauges, very old school, a bold move that I am surprised GM is attempting to pull off. I guess I am not, nor ever was a target Camaro buyer so if I don't particularly like it that is probably a good thing.

GM is going to cream in the overall performance of the 3, I'll admit that easily.
That said. I can only dream until I have a challenger in my garage.

GM didnt go full retro like the Dodge with the challenger and Ford with the mustang. What it did was design a new style with some touches of past cars. Look how sexy the rear fenders are on the Camaro. I have seen both cars in person and i can tell you the like the nissan maxima, pictures just dont do the camaro any justice. side by side the camaro makes the challenger look plain.

retro muscle doesn't do much for me. i mean i do respect it. but I'd take a C63 or IS-F or BMW M3 over SRT-8 Challenger, or Camaro. not cause the whole "trailer park, mullet" stereo type . but just BMW, Benz and Lexus is more orginal with their designs.
if you put a old school Challenger (like a 71) up to a new Challenger it's almost a "dead ringer"
and it's not that i don't respect the past but why redo the past. it's okay to have trademarks(like the Mustang emblem) but the Mustang, new Camaro and new Challenger is like we're back in late 60s early 70s.

And I can't believe I'm agreeing with water but he's right. The Challenger looks too much like the car of the past.
