2009 Infiniti G37S price
I wanted to see what you guys think. Im looking at a few G37s. I found one black on black, loaded, Navi, Premium Pkg, Sport Pkg, Illuminated Sills, and cargo net. They were asking 46,xxx. We got them down to 44,400 out the door. Tax and docs all in there. What do you guys think? Good price?
#2
not really. but then again its fully loaded. how much did the tax and doc come out to?
maybe i cant wrap my head around a 46k G. do you really need all of that? id start looking at others things if i broke into that price range. b/c youll prob get hit hard on resale for a car packed to the gills.
IMO, you should get a better discount for a car w all the options. what region?

That car is WAY over priced with options, it's actually difficult to spec out a G that heavily. First, keep in mind the 2010's are right around the corner and Infiniti got stuck with a lot of 08's last year on the lots, so they are going to be eager to move the 09's after a tough year. Depending on the details of the actual deal 44k OTD may not be a bad deal, but due to taxes and what not(trade in tax savings, etc...) it's much easier to compare before tax, title, plates, etc... Before all of that a good price on that car in most areas would be $42,500 plus or minus a little then start adding(or subtracting) your regional fees and unique elements to the transaction. That said, I bought a new G sedan in 07 and paid $37k, and think that was pushing it in terms of what it was worth. Over $40k for a G is insulting - IMO.

I sure hope this is at least AWD. This $44-$46k price range is stepping into BMW territory. You can probably get a not so well equipped 335 at this price…with that said, , this is not a good deal to me for a G even if it is out the door price.

Don't listen to these guys. You'll hear all sorts of fairy tale deals on the net but what really matters is whether or not you think its a good deal. You didn't specify whether its a coupe or 4-door and that makes a big difference. Plus, some dealers are willing to deal and some aren't. $44k OTD is not a bad deal, though not a great one either. Its about what I paid for my 08 (but that was when they first came out). Fully loaded, thats still about $6-8k less than a comparably equipped E92 335i will set you back.
Best advice is to settle on a price you think is fair and shop around. Emailing internet sales managers with your no-haggle price will work wonders (if only I wasn't such a compulsive buyer I could try this out sometime)....

I guess I just didn't realize the G was so fricken expensive. But your right, everyone has different taste and their own priorities. If you want the G and could afford to spend over $40k, go for it! I've driven one and I definitely liked it, loved it actually.

You could look at it as overpriced but I think the 2010 S4 would be $10k more and has the same power output.
If you're buying an '09, you need to do as much pricing research as possible. It sounds like you haven't and you're probably leaving a lot of money on the table.

That is great advice In fact I recommend taking it one step further, assuming you don't mind upsetting some folks. Gather all of the email addresses for all the local dealers and send one message addressed to all of the dealers, this way they will know they are being compared. You may get one dealer send you a "go to hell" reply but a couple should get you very reasonable prices right off the bat. One of my friends did this and picked up a 08 G35x premium pack. sedan in November 08, new for $31k and the dealer had a special they were throwing in a free laptop. 09's were just trickling into dealers at that time, but that is a really good deal.

For some reason I thought it was the sedan.

44k OTD in California = $40k for the car and that is $6000 off MSRP. I would consider that as a decent deal.
For your reference a 09 loaded Maxima is $39xxx, TL is $44000 and 328 is close to $47k... a V6 accord EX-L is more than $32k...
Cars are not cheap anymore...

also, my car has everything you have except for Illuminated Sills ($300)
and my sticker was $43k
Do you have the Intelligent Cruise control crap? Technology package?
Even with that the car should not be close to $46k...

Ok, let me do a quick break down, sorry i didnt say this before.
Its a coupe
- cars invoice they say - 36xxx
- navigation - 2200
- Premium Pkg - 3100
- Sports Pkg - 2500
Illuminated sills - 300
Im not exact but that is what i think the prices were.
MSRP was coming to 46xxx and tax and doc fees on top of that. This was done thru the internet dept. Checked out 3 dealerships before and none of them had teh two colors wanted. I think they are phasing out the 09 to make room for 10 becuase some dealers were VERY low and said they are just waiting for new ones. This is for my cousin and she is stuck on this car. I told her get a s5 since she wants only a 2 door but no, she wants a g. Any more advice? Thanks for the advice so far and im located in cali. The 44k out the door deal was making the car cost 39,xxx.

Again: Hyundai Genesis Coupe FTW! Save close to 20K for the same power, and performance!

Invoice on that car is about $42k. Because it's a 2009, I'd say ask for it for $42-something OTD. They are probably getting trunk money that you can get your hands on at this point.
Edit:
Sounds like there's $2500 there to negotiate with.

Exactly. I say start the haggling, and check multiple dealers. Also, your cousin could consider going out of state. You could save thousands, a flight is cheap, and she'll get to drive the car back, so a nice road trip.

The dealers seem stuck, We told them 42500 was our final offer and they have not called or anything but said while we were leaving that let us know when your going to come back because no one here can beat this. So out of state, which state? Any dealer i should contact?
#23
what s the benefit buying from another state? He will still have to pay CA resident tax after he brings the car back. 9.75%

if the invoice is 42k then 42k OTD is not a realistic price. as bad as the market is, no one is going to lose $ selling a car
that is the same thing as asking $4000 below invoice... $1000 below invoice, maybe. not 4k..
that is possible if it is a S550 or a M5 right now but not on a $40000 cars

do some research and see what others are paying, so you will have an idea how much room you have when you negotiate. Usually dealers give you less BS when the number you offer is pretty much the lowest they would go realistically. doing HW >*

dont want to sound like an ass - but you are 22. are you making these PMTs yourself? im a bit skeptical about your lack of concern on a 42k G...i feel like the avg knowledgable buyer would walk away without questioning - or at least start looking elsewhere for that amount. again, dont mean to be rude. just trying to figure out your situation to provide you with the best advice possible.

Well i called the guy again since she said she wants the car BAD! This is the most expensive one they had, fully loaded. Nothing is missing on the car. He said 44,389 so i said 44 flat and ill be there. He wont come down even a dollar. Checked with another dealer for a car just like that they said 45k out the door. Also ive done deals on MANY cars for family but it was usually honda, toyota, lexus, acura, nissan, bmw and never a infitini. Never paid attention to what these go. Usually i do my homework and then go out but this time did it a new way and it was a hell of alot more irritating. So from what i see personally this isnt really a bad deal for all shes gonna get. She can afford the car no questions asked and she likes it. So whats another grand for something she wants and likes right? Atleast she wont complain like you forced me into this and i really dont like it anymore, right?

i can't say if that's a good deal...but i got my '08 G back in sept '07 (remember that's the new model year) for about $44.5 out the door, IIRC. I have a blk/blk G37S 6mt, navi, prem, spoiler, cargo net
she doesn't want a slightly used G?
