I've never really inspected or driven the MS6, so I don't have a comment on the comparo. I do love my LGT though. It does have a few rattles and some durability issues on some interior painted surfaces. It would really be awesome if Subaru stepped it up a notch for the '08 lineup.

I have not had a chance to drive either car. I couldn't tell you which is better, but I know i'd probably lean towards the scooby.
I've seen a MS6 do a full on launch trying to get me to bite in my evo, it was pretty damn fast off the line. I was in awe how such a heavy looking car can move from a get go. The MS6 falls flat on its face after about 80-90mph... Handling? Its a pig, same with the Legacy.

I really really like the LGT. In fact I like it so much that I flat out told my friend that I like the LGT way more than the STi. It looks so much sleeker, and pig-snout or not, none of the GD Imprezas have looked as nice as the new LGTs. Now the GC Imprezas, thats a different story.
The hood scoop doesn't look like it was inspired by a microwave, and there's no shopping cart wing on the back. I'm sure its functional, but I don't think I'll be getting 5 feet off the ground anytime while I'm driving it.
Not to sound like a prick or anything Edroe, but you never drove either car so how can you say it handles like a pig? Did you ride in one, or were you just observing it from afar?
Maybe it was the stock suspension.... I remember reading in some magazine about how they tried to make their LGT handle as good/better than a LGT Spec. B.

I ended up getting the LGT in July and love it.
I put my 'carputer' from my CL in it and ordered a HID kit. Debadging soon also.
Thanks for all the replies to this thread!

the evo weighs about 3300lbs with a 2.0
the lgt weighs about 3400lbs with a 2.5
why is it a pig again?
please dont say 250/250 vs 290/290hp. subie kept the tune very conservative and at 13psi of boost. a simple flash and stage 2 tune makes for over 300/330 easy and for VERY CHEAP! my point is that you can have a lgt that is faster then both the sti and evo IN STOCK FORM for cheap if desired. obviously you can make the evo and sti even faster with the same mods.
also lots of lgt guys auto x and win, so the car performs in the twistys. those coming from sti's have even said they actually prefer the lgt because of the longer and wider wheelbase.

Spec B (Bilstein Suspension) might do decent on a race track in stock form.
Lets not debate about how good the LGT handles on the race track (It was not designed as a race car, its far from that...).
My simple comment about it being a pig was referring to the OVERALL SIZE of the car, not the weight. The chassis is comparable in size to my TL. Its a light car, hows the safety rating?
Yes, the symmetrical awd system, viscous coupling locking center diff., torsen limited slip rear differential, and vehicle dynamics control (VDC) all help the car handle that much better, but to compare this car to an EVO or STi as far as performance and handling it just doesn't make sense
The legacy is a great car. I want one badly, just for different reasons than others I guess. The only thing that turns me away from the Spec B is the young subaru owner image. Its kind of hard to look mature and somewhat classy in a subaru, even worse with the mitsubishi lol.
The 335i is looking better than the Legacy to me even though it is that much more expensive... The quality of materials used, the build quality, the name is just more appealing.
Yes, I know... who cares about impressing people who know nothing about cars!? Its a damn car, it gets you from point A to point B, some just faster

Anyone know if there will be any major changes to the interior of the Legacy for '08? Haven't been too impressed with this Gen's interior, although it was a huge step up from the last Generation.

Very high safety rating as I expected from subaru

Anyone have pics of the LGT interior? I'm not too much of a fan of the MS6 interior, at least not the two-tone one.

^ Ironically, when looking at cars the past few months for a new one, I found myself A LOT more impressed with the quality of the Mazda 3 interior vs. the 6. Didn't like the interior of the 6 at all....different materials and didn't seem as high quality or attractive.
I'm sure you can find some online pics of the Legacy interior. Personally, I never judge 100% by a picture, as I base a lot on the feel of materials and ergonomics while seated in the driver's seat too.

I've had both a lgt and an evo. Both highly modded. Handling on the lgt won't come close to the evo. That being said, I enjoyed my time w/the lgt more so than the evo. Fit and finish on the subie was worlds ahead of the evo. The lgt is also a more mature car. It doesn't have the ricer boy look like the evo does.
