vettes aren't worth a damn on most autocross courses because they can't use the power they have. if it's a short, tight, technical course, they are usually middle of the pack at best. now if the course has long or multiple str8 sections where they can get up to 3rd gear or so, then they have an advantage. vettes win races on the straights, not in the corners.

not that slow. there's not much out there that can compete with the slowness of an automatic TSX.

Z06s do have problems in autox though, their tall lower gears doesn't let them use all of the power properly. 1st goes all the way up to 60 and 2nd is probably a little too tall to get the power out of the corners. But on a road course, an Evo is just outclassed

depends on the mods/tires. if they are going against something like an EVO, STi or a prepped miata with a capable driver on similiar tires (street tire vs street tire, or R-comp vs R-comp), don't look to see the Z06 leaving with any trophies unless it's a course with some straight sections where the Z06 can use it's power.

see my note about the capable driver. also, what are the mods on the vettes compared to the mods of the other cars? if the vettes are SM, and the STi is A Stock or something like that, then the vettes are supposed to take it. for example, if you have an A Stock EVO/STi running within a second or two of SM prepped Vettes, that proves my point. also, no one person takes the whole autocross. Autocross doesn't work that way. If you actually do attend the events, AND RACE, then you should know you only win YOUR class, and possibly PAX, that's it. and if you want to get into fastest times of the entire event, i'm going to call bullshit all day long on those coming from vettes unless the other cars aren't modded as much, or the drivers suck. the fastest times of the day usually aren't cars at all. they are going to be your open wheel formula cars or the shifter karts.

I used to be heavy in to autoX a few years ago. The Vettes were usually the dominant class or very high up in the ranks. A really good driver makes all the difference.
Lets not make assumptions. Just makes you like more of a dumbass.

Once again, VETTES ARE NOT A CLASS. if the vettes are dominating an event, then the other cars are slow, or the drivers suck. yes, if you are racing against a vette in a TSX, you will lose. If you're racing a prepped miata, or an EVO/STi, S2000, or Lotus Elise, you're most likely going to post faster times unless you can't drive. i've raced against vettes that have competed at the national level in their respective classes, and have never had a problem keeping up with, or running faster times than them in my EVO. please read my post below before posting again.
you're looking more and more like a dumbass with every post considering you're talking to someone that's been racing for almost 8 years, and raced in an event less than a week ago, and will race in, AND WIN, two more events in the next month. since you don't like to read, i'll post it again.

Also, newbie, I never said vettes were the end all be all. I simply replied to your idiot post saying vettes arent worth a damn on the autocross. Fact is thats not true. The vettes compete and compete hard in autocross, especially with a great driver behind the wheel. And the so cal scca has or had since I havent been in years a lot of national level drivers, several who had c4 and 5s at the time. The c6 had just come out around the time I was getting out of it. And yeah, just as many with miatas, EVOs and STis. Even M Coupes and E36/E30 M3s
You need to learn to quit being such a defensive little bitch. This isnt jail, and going after the biggest dogs in the yards is going to earn you respect. Being quick to defend and throw insults the way you are doing is just going to earn you less and less respect, and probably in the end, your banning.
My advice is you zip it. If you had come at this thread with your "vast" knowledge of autoX

I'm going to guess you are just going to ignore the advice and continue to act like a cunt on the rag. Enjoy your short stay.

i will also say this again, it's not that the vettes can't be fast, but they do better on a course where they can use the power advantage they usually have. if they don't have enough room to stretch their legs, and they have to rely only on handling, they don't do all that well. on a road course or a bigger, faster autocross course, they can be dangerous.

seriously? "biggest dogg in the yard, blah blah blah"
sorry, had to laugh at that one. i don't give a shit who you are, or who you think you are because you're some internet forum God in your own mind. if you're wrong, you're wrong. i don't care if you "bag" on me or not. you're still an idiot. the jail comparisons are pretty stupid, but thanks for the laugh.

Oh so sowwy allow me to fix my post. Usually dominant or rank high in their competing class.
