My friend is thinking about getting one of these. What is the consensus on quality? I don't want him getting a crap car, and I haven't heard much about them..

I'll chip in...since it was my first car. I got an '02 Lancer OZ Rally when I turned 16. to be quite honest, it was a great car for the value. It didn't have much balls...wait let me rephrase that; it HAD no balls. It's damn near the same as a civic, but mitsu's version. It got pretty good gas mileage, and after 33,xxx miles, I had no problems with it. The transmission seemed real strong. I dunno, I give it a however I'd never get one again, put it that way.
